Fresh off his “Traitors” win, Rob Rausch is weighing in on co-star Maura Higgins trading castle drama for the ballroom. And while he’s fully backing her “Dancing With The Stars” journey, Rob Rausch also hinted the ballroom may not be completely off-limits for himself.
Rob Rausch Reacts To Maura Higgins Joining ‘DWTS’

During an interview with The Blast on behalf of Reese’s, Rausch revealed he actually heard the big news directly from Higgins herself. “Well, she told me,” he said, revealing that he knew about her casting right away. Thinking back, he said he was immediately excited for his “Traitors” castmate after learning she landed a spot on Season 35.
“I was super happy for her because I know she wanted it,” Rob shared. “And I’m excited to see how she does and if she wins.”
Higgins was announced as one of the first celebrity competitors joining “Dancing With the Stars” Season 35 alongside “Summer House” star Ciara Miller. Disney revealed the news during Hulu’s “Get Real House” event in April, with the rest of the celebrity cast and pro dancers expected to be announced later. Season 35 will premiere this fall on ABC and Disney+, with episodes streaming the next day on Hulu.
Maura Higgins Already Has Fans Rallying Behind Her

Higgins’ casting instantly sparked excitement online, especially after her breakout run on “The Traitors,” where fans became obsessed with both her gameplay and her unmistakable Irish charm. “She went from looking for love to looking for who to trust, and now she’s looking to win the Mirrorball,” the show’s official Instagram account teased while announcing her casting.
Never one to miss an opportunity for self-deprecating humor, Higgins quickly joined the fun in the comments. “I TINK IM VERY EXCITED!” she joked, a playful nod to the way fans lovingly quoted her accent throughout “The Traitors.”
Could Rob Rausch Be Next To Hit The Ballroom?
As for whether he could follow Higgins onto the dance floor one day, Rob didn’t exactly shut the door. When asked by The Blast if the pair had joked about him eventually making his own “DWTS” run, he initially played it hilariously straight. “You know, [Maura and I] don’t joke. We’re very serious,” he deadpanned. “When we talk, we try to keep things black and white.”
After a pause, he laughed and admitted that the conversation had happened. “No, I’m just kidding, yeah, we talked about it,” he revealed.
Rausch Thinks Reality Stars Get Underestimated In Competition Shows
Rausch also weighed in on whether reality TV stars tend to get underestimated when stepping into competition formats like “Dancing With the Stars.”
According to Rob, he’s already seen it firsthand. “Well, I think they did on ‘Traitors’ last season,” he said. The comment feels especially fitting considering Rausch ultimately proved doubters wrong by winning “The Traitors,” turning himself into one of the breakout stars of the season.
Rob Rausch Teams Up With Reese’s For Sweet New Collaboration

While fans may know Rausch best from reality TV these days, the “Traitors” winner also recently teamed up with Reese’s to help spotlight the candy brand’s newest nostalgic creations. Speaking with The Blast on behalf of Reese’s, Rob shared his excitement over the brand turning classic lunchbox staples into candy aisle treats with its new PB&J-inspired flavors.
“It was an easy thing to be a part of,” he said, admitting he’s long been a fan of the brand. “Reese’s is my favorite candy. I’m not just saying that. Like, I just love peanut butter.”
When asked to choose a favorite between the nostalgic flavors (the brand‑new Marshmallow Cup and the returning Strawberry PB&J Cup), Rausch admitted it was a tough call but ultimately gave the edge to the marshmallow variety. “I think I’d have to go with the marshmallow,” he shared. “I love a good s’more, and it’s got that flavor, you know, the chocolate, the marshmallow, the peanut butter.”
Still, Rob made it clear there’s one Reese’s classic that can never be topped. “I just honestly, I love the original,” he admitted. “It’s kind of my go-to.”
