Savannah Guthrie has reportedly left her friends and NBC colleagues concerned about how hard she’s pushing herself after being selected to take on a new role within the organization.
The journalist is still struggling with the disappearance of her mom, Nancy Guthrie, whom she paid a moving tribute to on Mother’s Day.
Law enforcement has managed to keep hopes alive with the investigation, saying an arrest will be made “at some point” as the case has now crossed 100 days.

Savannah Guthrie recently landed a new gig as she was selected to host NBC’s upcoming “Wordle” game show.
While the news is welcome among some of her work circle, reports suggest many are worried that she is going too hard while still dealing with the pain of her mom’s disappearance.
“People around Savannah are worried because she never stops,” an insider told journalist RobShuter’s #ShutterScoop.
They added, “She’s grieving, she’s under pressure at ‘Today,’ ratings are tightening, and instead of slowing down, she keeps adding more work.”
When Nancy first went missing, Savannah took time off from presenting on “Today” to be with her family. She appeared emotional in several videos, pleading for the abductors to release her unhurt, or for anyone with information to come forward and share.
Nancy has still not been found, causing many to worry that Savannah may have broken down and is only managing to get by.
The Morale At ‘Today’ Has Reportedly Been Shaky Since Savannah Guthrie’s Return
As news of Savannah’s mom’s disappearance made national headlines, coupled with her return to work, viewership for the “Today” show soared.
However, things are now said to be shaky as morale at the show has reportedly been seeing a downward spiral while “Good Morning America” has been enjoying an uptick in viewership.
“NBC desperately needs stability right now,” a source told the journalist about the network amid Savannah’s new gig.
They added, “When your biggest star starts branching out this aggressively, people naturally wonder if her focus is shifting away from the show.”
Friends Fear Savannah Guthrie Is Using Work As A ‘Coping Mechanism’
Savannah’s mental state is said to be a major topic of conversation between her colleagues as they continue to worry about her.
“Savannah is trying to stay strong on-air, but this has rocked her deeply,” a source said. “Friends think work has become a coping mechanism. She’s filling every empty space with another project.”
“She’s one of the hardest-working people in television,” another source added. “The fear isn’t that she’ll fail — it’s that she’s carrying too much for too long.”
Law Enforcement Officials Are Still On The Lookout For Nancy Guthrie
Law enforcement has not had any luck in their search for the missing grandmother as the case passes 100 days.
They have, however, insisted that the case is still active and anticipate making an arrest soon, as it appears they’ve been working a lead.
Local Pima County Sheriff, Chris Nanos, noted that both his agency and the FBI are on the case as they continue to try to decode several DNA samples found in her Tucson, Arizona, home.
“They are working hard to get this resolved, and I think every day they get closer,” Nanos told KOLD. “Day one, the FBI was involved in this case. And they continue to be involved in this case. Every single day.”
“We continue to work with our labs,” he added. “Whether it’s on the digital end or the biological end, DNA.”
The Sheriff Claims An Arrest In The Guthrie Case Is Imminent
Elsewhere in his remark, Nanos explained that the DNA they’re working with has been trying to detangle all the DNA evidence they found in Nancy Guthrie’s home and then work to unravel who it belongs to. He explained that such a process takes time, but an arrest is imminent.
“It moves at a snail’s pace, I guess for some,” Nanos said. “But for my investigative team, and for me, we look at this as, no, this is doing exactly what we need it to do.”
The sheriff boss noted that they’re being careful because they don’t want to arrest the wrong person, but also prosecute those involved.
“I believe, at some point in time, we will make an arrest on this case.” He added, “We’re not going to give up on it just because it’s been 100 days,” Nanos told the news outlet.
