Chris Brown‘s ex-housekeeper does not want every detail aired as the case moves forward.
The pair have been striking swords in their years-long legal brawl, and now, Maria Avila has expressed that she does not want some details to see the light of day. The case began after Avila pressed charges against the singer for a dog attack, which allegedly took place under his roof.
During the ongoing $90 million court battle, Chris Brown’s and his former housekeeper’s legal reps have argued over details that should or should not be admitted into evidence. Notably, the singer has fought to keep his domestic violence past out of the spotlight.
Chris Brown’s Ex-Housekeeper Wants Some Details Kept Out Of The Case

Brown’s former employee has requested that a judge not permit certain details to be entered into evidence as the case lingers. She is asking that the evidence showing that a member of the singer’s team gave her money for medical bills after the dog bite attack should be totally kept out of court.
Avila argues that those details are not relevant to the case, as they do not prove or disprove liability or damages. The legal docs explained that she claims the alleged payments do not show whether or not the actual attack took place, the nature and extent of her injuries, and whether Brown should be held responsible.
Furthermore, the disgruntled employee argues that a witness can testify only if they have personal knowledge, adding that there is no witness with personal knowledge who can testify that such payments were made.”
Maria Avila Is A Step Ahead With Her Plea

TMZ reported that Avila filed the court documents last week, telling the judge that she believes the defendants may attempt to introduce details of the alleged payments. Her request to have the evidence thrown out comes before Brown’s team placed those cards on the table.
She claims that opposing counsel may try to strengthen their case by revealing that she received money from a man named Emil Lewis or another third party.
Avila says Lewis has made statements that he gave her “tens of thousands of dollars for payment of [her] medical bills” after the dog attack, but she disputes this claim. She also insists that including the alleged evidence will only serve to prejudice the jury against her.
The musician’s former housekeeper is suing for $90 million based on claims that his dog viciously attacked her, causing extensive injury to her arms and face. Brown, on the other hand, has denied the claims, alleging that she provoked the canine.
The Singer’s Former Employee Fought To Show Gruesome Photos As Proof

Earlier this month, the plaintiff’s legal team took up arguments against the “Loyal” singer’s request to stop her from showing bloody photos of the injury she sustained in his home from the attack.
She argued that the images are relevant to the case because they show the seriousness of the bodily harm the animal caused.
Avila pointed out that being unable to show the pictures, no matter how gruesome they look, would make it more challenging to prove her claims during the trial.
According to her initial suit filed in 2021, Avila stated that Brown’s dog “viciously and brutally” mauled, attacked, and bit her on December 12, 2020, in the artist’s Los Angeles home, as reported by The Blast.
“The dog begins savagely biting her face, her arms, and other parts of her person and body, literally tearing out and ripping off large chunks of her skin from her face and her arms,” the legal document stated. If permission to show the pictures was not granted, it may be a case of her words against his.
The ‘Bruce Lee’ Singer Claims He Rose To Avila’s Aid Post Attack

Avila claimed, as per court documents, that her screams during the dog attack were brushed aside, stating that Brown did nothing to assist her after the incident.
The singer fired back at the accusations, referencing statements she previously made to Animal Control Officer Angela Hooks.
The former housekeeper told Hooks a different version of events, which contradicted her assertions that he did nothing to help her after the canine attack.
The city of Los Angeles Department of Animal Services Investigation reports that Avila also stated there were no witnesses present during the painful event. Yet, the singer and a security guard responded to her screams.
Brown’s attorney also alleged that the “Under The Influence” vocalist called for paramedics and secured the dog, potentially putting himself at risk of attack as well.
The Blast shared Brown’s filing, which also highlighted that Avila had been explicitly warned not to leave the house unsupervised, as the dogs on the property were unfamiliar with women.
Chris Brown Does Not Want Details Of His Violent Past Reintroduced

Brown asked the court to leave out all the details of his life involving his relationship with Rihanna and domestic violence charges in the ongoing lawsuit, as reported by The Blast.
The singer’s lawyer asked the judge for an order that would preclude Avila, her sister, their attorneys, and any witnesses from bringing up the incidents from his past relationship with the “Umbrella” singer.
The alleged domestic violence took place on the night of February 8, 2009, but Brown’s camp believes Avila’s lawyer may try to bring back evidence or refer to the incident to paint a narrative in support of their case.
Brown’s lawyers maintained that any reference to the alleged incidents was irrelevant to the case, as they occurred over a decade ago. They stressed that such references must be deemed “improper, irrelevant and unduly prejudicial.”
In addition, the R&B singer filed a motion to keep his residence confidential for fear of harassment after sharing personal details with his former housekeeper’s attorney during a deposition.
