Brigitte Macron allegedly slapped her husband Emmanuel Macron after seeing flirty texts in his phone from an actress.

Reps for the couple have denied the claims, with Brigitte’s camp insisting that she never checks the French president’s phone.

French First Lady Brigitte Macron reportedly slapped her husband Emmanuel Macron after uncovering a flirty text with Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani on his phone, journalist Florian Tardif claims.

“I find you very pretty,” Macron reportedly told Farahani in one of the messages; even though reports per Le Parisien suggest she kept a “platonic relationship” for months with the president.

“[This] led to tensions within the couple, which resulted in this private scene becoming public,” Tardif explained, referring to the viral incident in May last year.

“What hurt Brigitte was not so much the contents of the message as what it hinted at: a possibility … nothing tangible or that could really be denounced but the idea alone … was enough,” an excerpt from the journalist’s new book “An (Almost) Perfect Couple” states, per Paris Match.

Last year, video footage of Brigitte appearing to slap or shove President Macron as they disembarked a plane in Hanoi, Vietnam, went viral, sparking speculation at the time.

The clip captured the moment the plane was opening up to allow them to exit, but all of a sudden, Brigitte’s hand shoved her husband’s face, leaving him looking embarrassed. When he realized that he was in view, he immediately comported himself and started smiling and waving to the crowd.

However, she refused to come out and instead hid her facial expression. As time progressed, they walked down the staircase, but Brigitte still refused to take the arm he gave her.

The president’s team then tried to deny the reports, claiming they were only “squabbling.”

“We are squabbling and, rather, joking with my wife,” Macron said at the time, adding that the incident was being overblown into “a sort of geo-planetary catastrophe” by his enemies.

“People are saying all sorts of nonsense. Everyone needs to calm down,” he added, per the New York Post.

At the time, insiders tried to downplay the cause of the rift, saying it was more likely the couple trying to let off steam as they embarked on the trip.

“It was a moment when the president and his wife were decompressing one last time before the start of the trip by joking around,” a source close to the president told AFP.

“It’s a moment of togetherness. No more was needed to feed the mills of the conspiracy theorists,” the insider added, accusing pro-Russian disinformation accounts of spinning the clip.

A Rep For Brigitte Macron Denied The Flirty Text Claims

Brigitte’s team has since denied the new reports about the slap, saying Ftance’s first lady never checks her husband’s phone.

“Brigitte Macron categorically denied this account directly to the author on March 5th, specifying that she never looks at her husband’s mobile phone,” a representative said, per reports.

Farahani has also denied rumors of a relationship with Macron, saying rumors suggesting they’re romantically involved are not true.

“I think that there is a lack of love for some people and they need to create romances like this to fill [the void],” she told Le Point back in March.

Meanwhile, Brigitte recently talked about how being first lady has opened her up to the “wickedness and foolishness” of the world.

The remark came as Macron noted that he’ll be stepping back from politics after next year’s presidential election. She told La Tribune Dimanche that the top job had left her “sometimes sadder than I have ever been,” having exposed her to the “darkness of the world, the stupidity, the wickedness.”

“Before, I had a normal life, children, a job, ups and downs, like everyone else. Here, these ten years have passed so quickly … They have been so intense,” she told the news outlet.

“Sometimes I find it hard to see the blue sky. I have moments of pessimism that I didn’t have before,” she continued, referencing how her life has changed because of the role.

Throughout Macron’s regime, Brigitte has had to endure hurtful comments about her body and looks, with many people often speculating about her gender and sexuality.

Earlier this year, 10 people were found guilty of cyberbullying her as well as making “malicious remarks” about the 24-year age difference between her and her husband.
