Lindsay Lohan‘s father can’t seem to catch a break, be it his health or legal troubles.

Michael Lohan recently experienced two health scares, incidents that occurred two years after he removed a cancerous lesion on his hand.

Michael Lohan welcomed his famous daughter, Lindsay Lohan, during his first marriage to former singer and dancer Dina Sullivan. They had four children, two daughters and two sons, before their divorce.

Lindsay Lohan’s Dad Underwent Heart Surgery

According to new reports, Michael needed to undergo heart surgery after experiencing shortness of breath and extreme lethargy for weeks. He explained that the health scare began a couple of weeks ago when he was folding clothes and passed out in his house.

After undergoing a series of tests, doctors discovered a blockage in Michael’s heart and determined he needed a stent. He underwent surgery to place the stent in his heart, telling TMZ that he thought the ordeal was over until he suffered another health scare post-surgery.

Michael expressed gratitude to his supporters and well-wishers, happy to overcome the double health scares. The incidents occurred two years after Michael discovered a cancerous lesion on his hand and had it removed in 2024.

Michael Lohan Discovered Skin Cancer On His Hand

While speaking to the outlet in January 2024, Michael revealed that he had undergone a cancer procedure after developing “a suspicious lesion” on his hand. The discovery sparked a biopsy, which revealed that he needed to get rid of the lesion ASAP.

Michael shared that the ordeal wasn’t surprising, given that he was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma about 4 years ago. He explained that the type of cancer he battled was “aggressive” and required constant monitoring as it was likely to come back.

As for the lesion on his hand, Michael noted the cancer had “deep roots,” but doctors were able to remove everything after a lot of digging. He later shared a picture of the aftermath on Instagram, using his scar to motivate others with an inspirational message.

The Media Personality’s 2025 Was Filled With Legal Troubles

Besides his health woes, Michael has made waves for his run-ins with the law. Last year, CBS12 reported that he was released early from the Palm Beach County Detention Center in October 2025. Michael’s arrest stemmed from a violation of probation for a previous domestic violence charge in Texas.

At the time, he was arrested on March 16, 2025, and booked into Palm Beach County Jail. A month later, Michael was sentenced to nine months and was credited for 28 days for the time he already served. He raved about his early release in a statement, expressing gratitude.

Additionally, Michael claimed, “There’s a lot more to the story than what’s being reported.” The domestic violence charge in Texas was leveled against him in February 2025 after the Harris County Sheriff’s Office arrested him for assault, strangulation, and continuous violations against his family.

The ‘Mean Girls’ Star’s Father Was Previously Arrested For Patient Brokering

Michael’s legal troubles include a 2021 incident when he was arrested in Palm Beach County for patient brokering. Officers revealed that he had been referring drug addicts to Florida treatment centers in exchange for illegal kickbacks.

One of those centers included Lola Recovery Ventures in Palm Beach Gardens, where Michael served as president. He reportedly received more than $27,000 in kickbacks through checks that were made out to the facility during his tenure.

As for his 2025 domestic violence arrest, the allegations were leveled against Michael by his estranged wife, Kate Major. Additionally, she told authorities that Michael had been stalking her; however, he shared a different narrative about what transpired between them.

Lindsay Lohan’s Dad Vehemently Denied Attacking His Estranged Wife

The Blast reported in March 2025 that Michael had vehemently denied attacking his estranged wife. He argued that the allegations against him were fabricated and related to their custody battle. Nonetheless, a judge issued a protective order banning Michael from approaching Kate.

A source claimed Kate was fearful for her safety and had taken measures to protect herself and her children. On the other hand, Michael accused his estranged wife of threatening to have him violated for a long time, a sentiment his attorney, Andino Reynal, echoed.

The legal rep alleged that Michael had consistently attempted to help Kate achieve sobriety for their children’s sake, but she always failed to overcome her addictions. When it became evident to Michael that she couldn’t stop drinking, he asked her to leave their home, and the domestic violence allegations followed, per Reynal’s narrative.
