The 44-year-old, who co-chaired the annual fashion extravaganza this year, didn’t miss when it came to her outfit, showing off a gorgeous, figure-hugging gown while channeling the sheer trend. Wearing custom Olivier Rousteing as she gave a nod to designer Balmain’s former Creative Director, Bey showed off her healthy-looking curves while joined by daughter Blue Ivy, and fans didn’t hold back with their comments. Beyoncé was called “very chunky” by one hater, with another saying that she “got big.” The 2026 Met Gala came with a “Fashion is Art” dress code this year, while its theme was “Costume Art.”

Over 500 users upvoted a remark saying that the Cowboy Carter star was looking “very chunky.” Meanwhile, over 400 fans agreed when another user said: “Bey’s face looked thicker and older, and her bod too. Nothing wrong with that, just stop editing pics. Be happy with how you look.”

Straight-up shaming Bey, one user said that Beyoncé “looks big.” The R&B queen has made headlines for weight loss and gain over the years. In 2006, she made headlines for losing 20 pounds in just two weeks via the lemonade “Master Cleanse” diet. By 2018, she was in the news for slimming down ahead of her Coachella performance thanks to a strictly vegan diet.

The mom of three, who shares her children with rapper husband Jay-Z, put on a family display with 14-year-old daughter Blue Ivy, who wowed in a cream Balenciaga dress with a bubble hemline. Blue Ivy also made the news for wearing a $5,000 pair of shoes, choosing the Jimmy Choo designer. Bey, meanwhile, proved a separate talking point for returning to the Met Gala for the first time in ten years.
