Oh! How the tables have turned as Gordon Ramsay isn’t the one dishing out the critiques.
One of the Michelin-starred chef’s restaurants got called out on unsanitary claims by a customer. This is not the first time complaints have been made public about the popular chef’s eating joints through the years.
Gordon Ramsay has come under fire for much more besides the food at his restaurants. Over a decade ago, the TV personality was sued for allegedly not paying his staff their minimum wages and their overtime fees.
Customer Claims ‘No Hygiene’ At Gordon Ramsay’s Pizza Joint

An internet user recently uploaded a video slamming Ramsey’s Street Pizza place in London. The customer alleged that the food spot has blurry lines between dog-friendly and no hygiene amid filming a dog on a wee-wee pad allegedly taking a dump inside the restaurant.
“Is this normal in London? Since when did dog-friendly mean no hygiene at a restaurant ?” she wrote in her caption over the 17-second video. The customer can be heard asking, “Why is there a dog using a wee-wee pad in a restaurant?” while pointing to the canine sat near the table she was reportedly sharing with her husband and newborn baby.
The Tiktok video, which has received over 150,000 reactions, claims that dogs being allowed to “pee & poop” inside the food joint is the fourth reason people should not eat at the celebrity chef’s restaurant.
The customer claims that they notified the management before they left, but nothing was done, and they still paid the full bill plus a 15% service charge. In a follow-up video, she warns her viewers not to dine at the restaurant as dogs are allowed to “sh-t and piss” while people eat.
The Customer’s Claims Were Tagged Untrue

An eyewitness from Gordon Ramsay Street Pizza – Battersea restaurant in London, England, spoke to TMZ, debunking the Tiktok user’s claims. They affirmed that the dig was indeed in the restaurant, but stressed that it never relieved itself in the Pizza Joint.
They explained that the animal was simply sitting on the mat instead of on the bare floor and did not constitute a nuisance to people in the restaurant. “It never went to the toilet at all!” the source who saw the entire incident recounted to news outlets.
According to the insider, the woman who made the social media post dragging Ramsay’s restaurant complained that dogs should not be allowed in restaurants, then demanded to move tables. The witness said a manager moved her and her family to another part of the restaurant, “and that was that.”
Gordon Ramsay Previously Made Headlines For Serving Pre-Made Food At His Restaurants

The “Hell’s Kitchen” star got heavy backlash over findings that fresh food was not prepared and served at his restaurants and pubs in London, which resulted in one of his biggest scandals. The discovery came to light in 2009 when The Sun investigated that some food had been mass-produced off-site, and not fresh in the restaurants.
Although this was not true for every food item on his menu, it was reported that items such as fishcakes, sausage rolls, coq au vin, anything braised, desserts, and items cooked in sauce were made at a production kitchen in London.
Mashed reported that this was not strange for many restaurants and bars, as they often use pre-made pastas or frozen fries to cut down meal prep time and save cost on labor and ingredients.
However, some of Ramsay’s eateries hold Michelin stars and are world-renowned, and considering the high price customers pay for the food, it might be frustrating to discover that the food isn’t fresh from the kitchen.
This ignited a conversation online where many questioned whether paying heavily out of pocket to eat at Ramsay’s restaurants was worth it since the food was not as fresh as assumed. Others argued in the TV personality’s defense that just because the food was transported from one site to another doesn’t mean it is not fresh.
The ‘MasterChef’ Star Faced Legal Battles

In 2013, Ramsay came under the radar after employees from his Los Angeles eatery sued him for unpaid wages. Four former employees of the Fat Cow restaurant filed a class action lawsuit in L.A. Superior Court claiming that they were owed and were forced to work long hours without breaks.
The plaintiffs alleged, among other things, that they were forced to work grueling eight-hour shifts without a meal break and that they were not provided with proper documentation for their hours worked and their compensation.
ABC News covered the story at the time, reporting that the former employees revealed that the hourly staff of the establishment was not always paid their minimum wage of $8 an hour, and in addition, were denied overtime pay.
Even though the lawsuit was filed against Ramsay, Montinique Dever, a former hostess at The Fat Cow, said she does not believe he is entirely to blame for the issues. “Nothing was ever told to him. He could not know anything,” Dever said at the time.
Andrea Bourke, who was also a server at The Fat Cow, however, stressed that Ramsey had certain responsibilities since his name was in the establishment, even though he did not directly run the daily operations of the restaurant.
A rep for the “Hell’s Kitchen” star acknowledged the issues but pointed out that the previous management was to blame. The rep also clarified that new management was in place so that those issues would be resolved.
Inside Gordon Ramsay’s Personal Struggles

Last year, the celebrity chef shared a health update via social media, revealing that he underwent surgery to remove basal cell carcinoma, which is a common form of skin cancer.
The TV personality used that medium to advise his fans on the importance of wearing sunscreen while thanking his medical team for his early diagnosis and treatment.
The Blast reported at the beginning of the year that Ramsay’s wife, Tana, was also diagnosed with a form of skin cancer known as melasma. She revealed that spending long moments in the sun contributed to developing the condition that causes dark patches on the skin.
Since receiving her diagnosis, Tana shared that she has become extra cautious about being out in the sun, and she always uses her sunscreen.
Ramsay and his long-time partner also struggled to have children due to his low sperm count and Tana’s PCOS diagnosis. Thanks to IVF, they grew their family, welcoming four kids.
