Princess Eugenie is stepping into another major family milestone while navigating a complicated moment for the royal household.

The royal confirmed she is expecting her third child with her husband, Jack Brooksbank, sharing the update through Buckingham Palace and on her personal social media.

The announcement comes during a celebratory period for the couple, but also unfolds against ongoing scrutiny surrounding her immediate family, placing Eugenie at the center of both joyful and challenging headlines.

Princess Eugenie Announces Third Baby With Jack Brooksbank

Princess Eugenie confirmed she is pregnant with her third child, sharing the news through both Buckingham Palace and her personal social media.

A statement from the palace read per PEOPLE, “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their third child together, due this summer.”

The update also included a sweet note about their sons, adding, “August (aged 5) and Ernest (aged 2) are also very excited to have another sibling join the family.”

The palace confirmed that King Charles had been informed, with the statement noting he is delighted by the news.

Eugenie also marked the moment on Instagram, posting a photo of her sons holding an ultrasound image. “Baby Brooksbank due 2026!” she captioned alongside a couple of love emojis.

The timing added another layer of celebration, coming just one day after Brooksbank turned 40, which Eugenie honored by sharing rare family photos.

Eugenie’s Growing Family Reflects Years Of Change

Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank’s journey together began long before their expanding family.

The pair got engaged in January 2018 after seven years of dating and married later that year in a high-profile ceremony at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, attended by senior royals including Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

They welcomed their first son, August Philip Hawke, in February 2021, followed by Ernest George Ronnie in May 2023, shortly after King Charles’ coronation.

Their family life has continued to evolve alongside their careers and living arrangements.

In 2022, Brooksbank accepted a new role with property developer Mike Meldman, prompting the couple to split their time between the U.K. and Portugal.

Princess Eugenie Navigates Family Crisis Behind The Scenes

The pregnancy announcement comes during a turbulent period for Princess Eugenie’s immediate family.

In October 2025, King Charles stripped her parents, former Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, of their royal honors and their longtime residence as scrutiny intensified over their alleged connections to Jeffrey Epstein.

The situation escalated in February 2026 when Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office, tied to claims about sharing confidential information during his time as a trade envoy.

Amid the controversy, Eugenie and her sister have reportedly taken steps to distance themselves.

A source explained the sisters’ mindset to PEOPLE, saying they were trying to “stay away” from the situation. “They have young children, and this is their grandfather — their focus is on protecting their own children from this,” the insider shared.

At the same time, another source noted that the sisters “want to hold on to their royal status,” emphasizing, “It’s their identity.”

Meanwhile, Andrew has since relocated to Sandringham, while Ferguson has sought a more private life, with a relative telling the Daily Mail, “I have spoken to her [and] can tell you that she just wants to protect her children and her grandchildren.”

Despite being born into the royal family, Princess Eugenie does not serve as a full-time working royal. Instead, she has built a career outside of official duties while maintaining her royal identity.

She studied art history and English literature at Newcastle University and has worked as a director at the London-based Hauser & Wirth gallery since 2015.

Alongside her professional work, Eugenie is actively involved in several charitable causes, including Scoliosis Association UK, Teenage Cancer Trust, and Elephant Family.

The 36-year-old also co-founded The Anti-Slavery Collective in 2017 with her friend Julia de Boinville to raise awareness about modern slavery and human trafficking.

Family has remained central to Eugenie’s public outlook, especially as she raises her children during uncertain times.

She has spoken openly about her commitment to shaping a better future for them.

Speaking about her son August, during a 2023 interview at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Princess Eugenie told Reuters, “My son’s going to be an activist from 2 years old, which is in a couple of days. So, he, everything is for them.”

She added, “Every decision we now make has to be for whether August, what he’s going to be able to look at and do and how he’s going to live his life.”
