Nina Dobrev Sizzles In Sheer Look At Met Gala Pre-Party

The actress definitely made an entrance in a sheer black fishnet top layered over a structured bodice, complete with bold red circular accents that instantly drew the eye. She kept the rest of the look sleek, pairing it with a fitted black base and a matching red handbag that tied everything together.
When it came to glam, Dobrev kept things simple. Her makeup was soft and natural with glowing skin and neutral tones, while her hair was pulled back into a clean bun that let the outfit do all the talking.

Long before her recent fashion risks, Nina Dobrev made her Met Gala debut back in 2012 for the theme “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations.”
For her first time on the iconic steps, she kept things classic in a black and gold Donna Karan Atelier gown. The dress featured an asymmetrical neckline that added a modern twist, while the fitted silhouette hugged her frame and flowed into a dramatic train behind her.
Nina Dobrev Went Playful And Whimsical In 2019

By 2019, Nina Dobrev fully leaned into the Met Gala’s theatrical side, and the result was one of her most fun looks yet. For the “Camp: Notes on Fashion” theme, she stepped out in a shimmering mini dress that looked straight out of a fairytale.
The structured, iridescent design featured a sculpted bodice with wing-like details that wrapped around her back, giving the entire look a Tinker Bell-inspired feel. The short, flared skirt shows off her legs while still keeping that high-fashion finish. She paired the look with sparkling heels and slicked-back hair, letting the bold dress take center stage.
Dobrev Reveals The High-Tech Story Behind Her 2019 Look

Nina Dobrev’s 2019 Met Gala look wasn’t just eye-catching, but it was seriously innovative behind the scenes. The actress later revealed that designer Zac Posen personally invited her to the event, telling her he had a “very specific vision” in mind. That vision turned into one of the most unique dresses of the night, blending fashion with cutting-edge technology.
“He had partnered with this company that…he designed it, so it’s designed by a man but made by technology, by a robot essentially,” Dobrev explained to E! News. “It was printed, over 60 or so hours it took to print the mold and then the dress itself is a whole separate…it took about six to eight weeks from the original fitting until now.”
The futuristic creation was 3D-printed and carefully molded to her body, making the structured, sculptural bustier feel like a true work of art. Paired with glowing glam by makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury, who described the night as “magical,” the entire look perfectly captured the bold, over-the-top spirit of the “Camp: Notes on Fashion” theme.
