Many believed the deal marked Hailey Bieber’s retirement, but she recently denied these speculations.

Hailey Bieber Has Big Plans Involving Mom’s Home Country

In an interview published on Thursday, April 30, Hailey confirmed that she is still very active in the beauty industry and Rhode’s future. “I’m an entrepreneur at the end of the day. I want to expand in business, and I want to be able to do more things,” she declared.

Hailey explained that she is “definitely not in a rush” to fulfill her goals, but she is still focused on expanding Rhode’s operations to European countries by “early fall.” She shared that the expansion stemmed from her desire to honor her mother, Kennya Baldwin.

The entrepreneur told TIME that she plans on expanding to South America, particularly Brazil, her mother’s home country. Additionally, Hailey hopes to offer more products centered on specific skin concerns and create solutions for her own skin as she ages.

Hailey reiterated that she isn’t stepping down from having a voice at Rhode, stressing that she has big plans for the company in the years to come. These goals, plus her successful career outside the beauty industry, made Hailey proud to turn 30 in November.

“I say to my friends all the time: ‘Couldn’t pay me to go back to being 20 for a day.’ There’s nothing there for me,” Hailey declared. “Can’t wait to turn 30 and continue to see what’s in store.”

Hailey’s excitement for a new age stemmed from the growth she experienced in her personal life and career. She recalled how critics frequently tore her down from her looks to her abilities as a mother, claiming she has since learned to tune out the noise. In her words:

“I need to live my life and continue to move forward regardless.”

The deal reportedly featured a $600 million payout in cash, $200 million in e.l.f. Beauty stock, with a potential $200 million future earnout over three years, depending on the brand’s post-acquisition performance.

Nonetheless, the May 2025 sale of Hailey’s Rhode brand marked one of the largest celebrity acquisitions in recent years. The outlet noted that, unlike the entrepreneur, most of the richest people in the beauty industry inherited their wealth, such as Françoise Bettencourt Meyers, the heiress to the L’Oreal fortune.

Months after Hailey’s $1 billion acquisition made waves, The Blast reported in September 2025 that her father was beside himself with pride. Stephen Baldwin raved about his daughter’s success during his appearance on Tori Spelling’s “MisSPELLING” podcast.

Stephen explained that he usually did not talk about Hailey, but the business move deserved all the praise she could get. The doting dad noted that Hailey did “the impossible,” applauding her for putting in the hard work rather than going down the wrong path.

“Young people are making unbelievable amounts of money on the Internet in ways that are very sketchy. So, God bless her,” Stephen gushed. He added that there were several opportunities in the past for Hailey to join the beauty business, but she waited until she could do it her way.
