On April 28, King Charles and Queen Camilla participated in a traditional gift exchange with President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, with each item carrying a heavy historical weight.

The King presented the President with a premium framed facsimile of the 1879 design plans for the Resolute Desk. The desk was originally commissioned by Queen Victoria, the King’s great-great-great-grandmother, and gifted to President Rutherford B. Hayes in 1880.

People Magazine confirmed that it was famously crafted from the timbers of the H.M.S. Resolute, a British ship that was abandoned, recovered by Americans, and returned to the Queen as a gesture of peace before its wood was eventually used to create the iconic Oval Office centerpiece.

The exchange also included personal tokens for the spouses and a reciprocal historical document from the president. Queen Camilla gave Melania Trump a brooch created by Fiona Rae. In return, the Trumps gifted the royals Tiffany silver spoons and honey.

To honor the King, President Trump presented a bespoke copy of a 1785 letter from John Adams to John Jay. The letter details Adams’ first meeting with King George III as the first U.S. ambassador to Britain.

Shortly before the historic exchange of gifts between the two leaders, a surprising genealogical discovery added a personal twist to the official state visit.

The Daily Mail confirmed research tracing a shared family tree that connects Donald Trump’s lineage to the British royal bloodline. The pair are linked through the 3rd Earl of Lennox, a great-grandson of King James II of Scotland, making Trump and King Charles 15th cousins.

This newly revealed connection sparked a wave of excitement from the president, who wasted no time sharing the news with his followers.

“Wow, that’s nice. I’ve always wanted to live in Buckingham Palace!!!” Trump gushed.

Following the revelation of Trump’s shared royal ancestry, the president expressed a desire to attend the King’s Congress address, even though it would be against protocol.

Trump pointed out the unique nature of having a direct descendant of King George III address the successors of the very body that declared independence in 1776. According to The Blast, the president emphasized that this meeting would likely have shocked leaders like George Washington or John Adams.

However, he maintained that their surprise would give way to joy, as they would be pleased to see that former enemies had formed such a deep and lasting friendship.

The speech opened with a message of profound respect and solidarity for the American public. Beyond the celebration of past milestones, the monarch also acknowledged the current climate of uncertainty in the American capital.

The monarch also used the platform to address the recent shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, offering a sincere gesture of support to the victims and the American people following the traumatic events of the weekend.

Even as the King addressed the recent White House shooting, President Trump reportedly already spoke to him about the incident.

According to The Blast, while welcoming the royal couple, Trump reportedly used their private exchange to issue warnings about both the recent assassination attempt and the threat posed by Vladimir Putin.

A lip reader indicated that when the president mentioned the shooting, the King expressed discomfort with staying in the open air, suggesting he felt he shouldn’t be there.

Trump then reportedly criticized this hesitation as “not a good thing” and claimed that while he was caught off guard on Saturday night, he is now fully prepared for any further danger.
