Darrell Sheets‘ “Storage Wars” co-stars are willing to contribute to his funeral, as long as his family keeps them in the loop.
The TV personality took his final breath on Wednesday, April 22, at the age of 67. He reportedly died by suicide in Lake Havasu City, Arizona; however, an official cause of death has not been confirmed.
Darrell Sheets rose to fame on the A&E reality TV series “Storage Wars” until his retirement in 2023. He was allegedly getting cyberbullied before his passing.
Darrell Sheets’ Co-Stars Want To Be Involved In His Funeral Preparations

One of Sheets’ co-stars, Dan Dotson, recently opened up about the cast’s desire to be involved in the late entertainer’s funeral preparations. He explained that they hoped to financially support the memorial plans, but did not know what Sheets’ family was working on.
“[Darrell’s family] might just do something small and quaint and easy for them,” Dan said of Sheets’ possible funeral plans. He noted that no matter what Sheets’ family chose to do to honor his late pal, the cast was willing to help out financially. In his words:
“I know that we would all chip in and help and try to make it right for them if they had anything else in mind that they would want to do.”
The grieving friend told US Weekly that he and his wife, Laura Dotson, have only spoken to Rene Nezhoda about their offer. Nonetheless, he believed the other cast members and even the production and network would be interested in doing something for Sheets.
The Late TV Personality’s Family Hasn’t Been Forthcoming With Their Plans
Dan explained that no one from the “Storage Wars” crew could do anything about supporting Sheets’ funeral plans until they heard from his family. He noted they had to “figure out what the family wants, and then try to fit in and around that.”
On that note, Dan hoped Sheets’ loved ones would keep them in the loop about the funeral preparations. “I know that the public would love to know, [and] a lot of his fans would like to participate and show their respect,” he said.
The TV personality lamented the lack of information about Sheets’ final send-off, adding, “I just wish I had answers. I’ve had a lot of his fans reach out, wondering what the heck’s going on.” Dan implied that the family’s silence made it seem “like there’s a lot more than what meets the eye.”
The Deceased Was Allegedly Being Cyberbullied Before His Passing
Dan’s wife, Laura, shared more details about Sheets’ life before his death in a separate interview with the outlet. She revealed Sheets had allegedly been enduring cyberbullying for three years before his passing, an experience that significantly impacted his mental health.
“This made him feel less than, and it really obviously bothered him. He was terrified for his life [and] for the people around him. He didn’t know why he was being targeted,” Laura shared. She believed the online buying, coupled with other factors, could have influenced Sheets’ death.
These factors, per Laura, included Sheets’ health, relationships, love interests, and more. Despite the darkness that might have pushed him over the edge, Laura remembered Sheets as “a wonderful, loving person who believed in God.”
The Former A&E Reality TV Outed The Alleged Cyberbully Weeks Ago
In the interview, Laura also recalled that Sheets had once frowned on death by suicide. She noted he could not believe anyone would choose to end their life after one of their mutual pals died by suicide.
Laura recalled Sheets empathizing with their late friend, believing they must have been in so much pain to have ended their life. Given his past stance on suicide, she lamented how hard it was for her and Dan to believe Sheets had chosen the same route.
Weeks before his passing, Sheets reportedly called out his alleged cyberbullies in a Facebook post. In the March update, he claimed he had been hacked by “a very evil person” and “very evil people.” The alleged culprits created false posts about Sheets, leading to threats.
The Authorities Are Aware Of Darrell Sheets’ Alleged Cyberbullying Experience

Following his initial cyberbullying claims, Sheets alleged in a separate post that the “cyberbully stalker” had victimized others via social media. He noted the culprit was using his name to terrorize others and even extorted money from people in his town.
These claims resurfaced after Sheets’ tragic passing. Sgt. Kyle Ridgway noted in a statement that the Lake Havasu City Police Department was aware of the cyberbullying accusations. He added that the allegations had become a part of their investigation, per The Blast.
The authorities became involved after Sheets died from an apparent suicide stemming from a gunshot wound to the head. The incident occurred in the early hours of April 22 at a home in Lake Havasu, Arizona. Sheets was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rest in peace, Darrell Sheets.
