Is it too late now to say ‘sorry?’ For DaBaby I guess it isn’t.

The rapper who went on a wild and bizarre homophobic rant last weekend during the Rolling Loud Festival in Miami, Florida is really doing the most to clear his name and image.

DaBaby has faced immense backlash from celebrities and fans alike for saying insensitive comments about HIV/AIDS and the LGBTQ community.

He compared people living with HIV/AIDS to “junkies living on the street.”

Earlier this week, he attempted to back pedal what he said, but still didn’t officially say sorry.

British pop singer, Dua Lipa, condemned his behavior and said she “100% stands with the LGBTQ community.”

The two collaborated on a remix of her song, “Levitating” from her album “Future Nostalgia.”

On Tuesday, July 27, DaBaby finally apologized for his insensitive and irrational comments.

He took to Twitter writing, “Anybody who done ever been affected by AIDS/HIV y’all got the right to be upset, what I said was insensitive even though I have no intentions on offending anybody. So my apologies.”

His message continued, “But the LGBT community… I ain’t trippin on y’all, do you. Y’all business is y’all business.”

Many fans went OFF on him for the “backhanded apology,” claiming it was nothing more than an attempt to lazily clear his name from bad press.

Clearly the heat was too hot to handle, so DaBaby took his apology a step further and released a music video on Wednesday, July 28.

In the music video titled, “Giving What It’s Supposed To Give,” DaBaby holds up a sign that has “AIDS” written on it.

However, during this scene he raps, “B***h, we like AIDS, I’m on your a**, we on your a**, b***h, we won’t go ‘way.”

Is This Really An 'Apology' Though?

Later in the video, a message appears on screen reading, “Don’t Fight Hate With Hate.”

It continues, “My apologies for being me the same way you want the freedom to be you.”

Hmm... interesting.

Not sure how much of an “apology” that is, and fans agreed.

One fan commented on the video,”the message at the end can also be translated as ‘i’m sorry for being hateful and discriminatory but that’s who i am just like you are apart of the lgbtq.. that’s who you are and you get to be yourself so why can’t i?’”

Another said, “bro u can’t come back from this.”

Some even claimed he was gaslighting and only tweeted an apology because he knew the video was dropping and needed the views.
