Angel Reese is in Megan Thee Stallion‘s corner. On Sunday, April 26, the Atlanta Dream player shared a message of support for the three-time Grammy winner on social media after learning of her dramatic split from NBA star Klay Thompson.

Angel Reese isn’t the only one sending love Megan’s way. According to The Blast, social media users, public figures, and other athletes have also opened up about the sudden split, calling out Thompson for his alleged wrongdoings.

“It’s the way you show up even while carrying so much,” Reese wrote. “That’s what makes you THAT girl.”

Reese’s post arrived hours after Megan slammed Thompson on her Instagram Stories, claiming that his alleged cheating was the cause of their split.

“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet,’” she wrote online. “Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season, now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous????’”

Megan added, “B-tch, I need a REAL break after this one .. bye yall.”

Megan and Thompson’s breakup comes after nearly a year of dating, according to The Blast. The pair were first romantically linked in the summer of 2025, when they were spotted vacationing together in the Bahamas.

Months later, the two superstars made their official red carpet debut, during which Megan gushed about how special Thompson made her feel.

“This is my first relationship where I’ve ever been with somebody who’s genuinely a nice person, and he makes me genuinely happy,” she said, per The Blast.

After slamming the four-time NBA champion on her Instagram Stories, Megan released an official statement, in which she emphasized her earlier allegations against Thompson.

“Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity,” she said.

While it’s unclear what else might’ve happened behind closed doors, the split has definitely taken some social media users by surprise, given that Megan said in February 2026 that Thompson was the man for her.

“This is one of the first times that I’ve ever been just overly comfortable,” Megan said. “I’m comfy, babe!”

Social media users have flooded different forums in support of the “Girls in the Hood” performer. According to The Blast, some users are taking the split so seriously that they’re wishing harm on the Dallas Mavericks guard.

“On the phone with an Etsy witch @KlayThompson,” someone wrote. “Keep god in ya life,” while another wrote, “That ACL will be torn by tomorrow.”

Megan Gets Real About Depression

Megan has been through a lot over the last few years. In addition to her public fallout with rapper Nicki Minaj, Megan was also the subject of a high-profile legal case involving rapper Tory Lanez. The 33-year-old was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2023 for shooting Megan.

In a personal essay for Elle Magazine, Megan got real about the backlash she received for telling her story, admitting that it put her in a dark place.

“The truth is that I started falling into a depression. I didn’t feel like making music. I was in such a low place that I didn’t even know what I wanted to rap about. I wondered if people even cared anymore. There would be times that I’d literally be backstage or in my hotel, crying my eyes out, and then I’d have to pull Megan Pete together and be Megan Thee Stallion,” she said.

Despite pulling it together, Megan said that the criticism hurt more than people realized.

“… my heart hurts for all the women around the world who are suffering in silence, especially if you’re a Black woman who doesn’t appear as if she needs help. So many times, people looked at me and thought, ‘You look strong. You’re outspoken. You’re tall. You don’t look like somebody who needs to be saved.’ They assumed that, per preconceived stigmas, ‘I didn’t fit the profile of a victim,’ and that I didn’t need support or protection,” she shared.
