Jimmi Simpson has filed for divorce from his wife, Sophia Del Pizzo, after several years of marriage.
According to legal documents obtained by The Blast, Simpson filed for dissolution of marriage on July 26, 2021, in the Los Angeles County Courthouse. In the filing, the 'Westworld' star says the couple married on April 5, 2019, and separated only a year and 7 months after that date.
The famous couple reportedly eloped after not being about to schedule a bigger wedding around their television show, 'Perpetual Grace, LTD.' "Sophia [Del Pizzo] and I were planning on getting married last fall, and then ‘Perpetual Grace’ came," he said at the time. Adding, "But with her family in London and Simpson’s “all over the country,” “we just looked at each other and said, ‘I want to get married!’

He continued, "This career, as my family knows, it's a blessing and a curse. Yes, I get these opportunities, but goddammit, I can't hold a family meetup date for anything. At the end of the shoot we were like, “Okay, we have a month and a half before things get silly again. How do we organize all the families?”
"Let’s just get married because it'll feel nice, Jimmi told L.A. Confidential. Adding, "So, we set up an appointment at the courthouse, went in and got the rules, and then we went about calling our folks for permission. We basically had kind of an expedited wedding ceremony and it was just as beautiful as anything I could have hoped for."
In the divorce petition, Jimmi asks the court to order that neither he nor his estranged wife is responsible for paying the other any child support.
As you know, Jimmi was previously married to actress Melanie Lynskey, who played Charlie Sheen's neighbor in 'Two And A Half Men.' The couple divorced in 2012, citing irreconcilable differences. The former couple was married for five years. Neither Melanie nor Sophia have any children with the 'Westworld' star.
Easy Divorce?
We are guessing it will be a painless divorce after Jimmi and Melanie's split required no lawyers and included a line in the judgment that said neither wanted spousal support and promised not to take an "unfair advantage" of each other while splitting up their assets. Nicest divorce ever.
The divorce filing comes on the heels of another major story involving the popular HBO show after the production was shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, the Warner Bros. produced TV show recorded a positive Coronavirus test from a production member and shut down the set.
Of course, it's terrible news for fans waiting for the latest season of the smash hit, and the show joins 'American Horror Story' and others like 'House Of The Dragon' and 'Brigerton' with stoppages in production.
