The country singer and Nicole Arbour got involved in an online exchange that involved death threats, and now the media personality has been let go by the authorities.

Jelly Roll spent much of his youth and early adulthood going in and out of the Tennessee justice system and has stated in various interviews that he had been arrested about 40 times for a range of offenses from drug dealing to robbery.

The musician got lucky with the Nashville police, who have said that they are not rushing to build a case. According to a representative from the police, “As you’re probably aware, there appears to be an ongoing online back and forth between the two. No charges have been filed, and there is no current investigation underway on the part of MNPD.”

Arbour had previously escalated her issues with Jelly Roll, claiming that his team had sent her money and a deal to buy her silence alongside threats to sue her if she did not sign the document. The Canadian comedian revealed on social media that she turned down the alleged agreement and has refused to apologize for what has gone on for years behind the scenes, even with his wife, Bunny XO.

Arbour added that she provided video that captured the incident, after which deputies reviewed the footage and identified Jelly alongside another man in the clip. As shared by TMZ, the comedian added that she ran into the singer at a charity event where he threatened to kill her if she saw her with the camera. 

The Singer Received A State Pardon For His Previous Crimes

Last year, Jelly Roll was famously granted clemency for crimes he committed over two decades ago, and he was among the 33 people Tennessee governor Bill Lee pardoned on December 18.

As shared by E! Online, Lee explained that after thoroughly reviewing the merits of each case, due to the unique nature of each individual. The governor thanked the Board of Parole members for their thoughtful recommendations throughout the process.

The politician singled out Jelly Roll as one of those who would get a pardon because his story is remarkable, redemptive, and powerful. The singer’s most severe charge was aggravated robbery, for which he served over a year in prison and seven years of probation.

The singer went home with not one, but three Grammy awards in 2025, including the Best Contemporary Country Album category, Best Country Duo/Group Performance, and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song. As noted by The Blast, Jelly Roll revealed his plan to donate one of his cherished plaques to a county jail to inspire the inmates.

The singer’s wife, Bunny XO, also got to keep one for herself as she so deserves. In his words, “I’m going to obviously keep one at the studio because that was my dream, and I think I’m going to give the second one to the county sheriff, Daron Hall, to put at the jail.”

Jelly Roll officially began his music career in 2003, spending two decades as an independent artist before achieving mainstream success with his transition to country and rock music in the early 2020s.

As of January 2026, Jelly Roll spoke about his dramatic weight loss, where he dropped about 300 pounds, which gave the Midas touch to his health and fatherhood.

The singer explained that the transformation that happened with his weight made him more present and active in his children’s lives because he felt physically and emotionally connected to his children.

He revealed that he had begun coaching his son Noah’s basketball team, which he would never have done when he weighed more than 500 pounds. He added that losing weight also improved his spiritual life, bringing him closer to God and to himself because a healthy body is a healthy soul.

The musician reviewed that everyday moments, such as attending games and playing with his kids, have become more enjoyable than before.
