The MTV alum broke her silence on how the news that she had cancer made her feel, and getting informed about going in for an important surgery to contain any possible spread.

“I was terrified. I was hysterically crying in my car — like, what am I gonna do? I have three kids. I gotta do my will. I haven’t done my will yet,” she explained. Snooki revealed that she also made the mistake of not taking her doctor seriously when he called her for reminders to come in for follow-up appointments, and now she wishes she had been more attentive. 

On the bright side, the TV personality gave an update about her recent PET scan, which showed that the cancer has yet to spread, and the surgery would ensure it never does. As reported by TMZ, Snooki has now locked in the surgery date, but the nerves are still there as she wishes for a successful outcome.

The TV star also hopes people learn from her mistake and understand the importance of detecting these things early. In her words, “I feel like nobody talks about cervical cancer. The main point of me talking about this is for girls to get on their sh-t and not do what I did. This is very preventable.”

The media personality hopped on TikTok on February 20, 2026, to announce that results from a cone biopsy she previously underwent confirmed that she has stage 1 cervical cancer, known as adenocarcinoma. According to the Cleveland Clinic, adenocarcinoma is a type of cancer that starts in the glands of the organs and affects several areas of the body, including the lungs, stomach, pancreas, and colon.

As noted by The Blast, Snooki recalled undergoing a very uncomfortable medical procedure after an abnormal pap smear, which was when the doctor discovered cancerous cells on top of her cervix. The media personality revealed that she ultimately stuck with getting a hysterectomy after weighing her options, which included getting chemotherapy, radiation, or the option she went for.

Snooki’s revelation was met with so much warmth and encouragement from her fans, MTV co-stars, and friends, who praised her strength and thanked her for raising awareness about getting pap smears and routine check-ups.

The reality star, on an episode of “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation,” in 2025 had a conversation with her birth mother via video chat, asking why she had to put her up for adoption.

Her birth mother explained to the reality star that when she found out she was pregnant with Snooki, her biological father was nowhere to be found, and she had to let her baby go to a family who would really care for her. Snooki was adopted from Chile by an Italian-American family at just six months old.
