Shocking new revelations have emerged ahead of the final episode of a documentary about Rex Heuermann.
At the center of the episode is the alleged serial killer’s ex-wife, Asa Ellerup, who has revealed she is “haunted by dreams” of his actions every night. She also claimed she sleeps in the room where her ex-husband reportedly dismembered seven of his eight victims.
Rex Heuermann recently pleaded guilty to killing eight sex workers, crimes he allegedly confessed to Asa Ellerup before accepting his plea deal.
Gilgo Killer’s Ex-Wife Asa Ellerup Reveals Why She Moved Into The Murder Room

Ahead of the fourth installment of the Peacock doc “The Gilgo Beach Killer: House of Secrets,” a teaser has revealed some of the shocking claims viewers will find when it debuts on Thursday.
According to the New York Post, Heuermann’s wife, Asa Ellerup, was interviewed in the Long Island room where he allegedly killed most of his victims, and she claimed that she was there “because I do feel spiritual.”
Describing her revelation as the “brutal truth,” the ex-wife of the serial killer also noted she has moved into the room since it was cleared by police, seemingly as her own means of self-retribution for the seven out of eight workers who were dismembered there.
“I’m trying to say spiritually in my own way that I am really sorry for what these victims went through,” Ellerup revealed in the doc.
The Mother Of Two Revealed She Is ‘Haunted’ By The Dreams Of Rex Heuermann’s Actions

Despite not being involved in her ex-husband’s crimes, Ellerup claims she still very much bears the emotional weight of his actions.
“Every night when I go to sleep, I am haunted by dreams. Every night,” the mother of two confessed.
“It will never go away,” she continued. “It will follow me for the rest of my life. There will never be any justice for anyone, and there will never be any way to forget about this.”
Asa Ellerup Admits Her Ex-Husband’s Guilty Plea Has Not Put Her Mind At Rest About His Double Life

Ellerup’s ex-husband’s plea agreement to the crimes has also not put to rest for her the mystery behind his double life.
She claims she is still plagued by the nagging question of how he hid it all from her throughout the length of their marriage.
“I want to get to know the other side of Rex. I want to know why Rex killed these women, what his triggers were,” she noted.
Heuermann’s ex-wife added, “I am processing the information in a very different way because now I see evil in him.”
Rex Heuermann’s Ex-Wife Admitted He Confessed His Crimes To Her

A similar shocking revelation from Ellerup was seen in an earlier teaser released.
In it, she revealed that her ex-husband confessed without hesitation to killing seven out of his eight victims in their Long Island home.
“So, Mr. Heuermann, I understand that you are confessing to me on these murders — can you please tell me how many of these women did you kill?” Ellerup recalled asking the serial killer during a trip to see him in jail last summer, per the New York Post.
Her confession came as a shocking turnaround to earlier remarks of her saying that he was capable of the crimes he was accused of.

“I know what bad men are capable of doing,” she said in a clip from the show. “I’ve seen it, and I’ve heard it from other men. Not my husband. You have the wrong man.”
At the time, she also seemed to show a sort of admiration for him, calling Heuermann her “hero” and reflecting on great moments in their nearly two decades of marriage.
“There were times when he was working, but I’d call him, and he would come by and pick me up,” Ellerup recalled at the time.
Rex Heuermann Will Be Sentenced In July

All eight victims Heuermann is accused of killing died across decades, and his plea deal is expected to bring some form of peace to the victims’ families.
The plea deal also includes an agreement that he will serve three life sentences without parole in a federal penitentiary.
On June 17, he is scheduled to be sentenced and then transferred to prison, where he will begin serving his term.
Heuermann’s decision to accept a plea deal was addressed by his lawyer, Michael Brown, who noted that the ruling by Judge Timothy Mazzei to allow key DNA evidence played a major role.
Brown described the evidence as “overwhelming,” adding that the accused serial killer likely chose to avoid a trial in part to spare his family from the distress of having the details of his alleged crimes publicly examined.
