Russell Brand has made perhaps the most shocking revelation about his personal life since he was hit with multiple sexual allegations.

In a new interview with Megyn Kelly, he revealed that he once slept with a sixteen-year-old during his days of promiscuity, per TMZ.

Although the comedian didn’t reveal the identity of the individual, he attempted to defend the morality of his actions by saying he was not in the wrong, as that is the age of consent in the UK.

He also took the opportunity of appearing on the show to once again defend himself against the sexual allegations he is currently facing.

The actor claimed that he has only had consensual sex with all of his partners, including the 16-year-old, which occurred when he was 30. However, he admitted that he was mostly not kind to his partners, but still never assaulted them.

Reflecting further on his past, Brand said he was no longer the same person and has done his best to leave behind his past life of promiscuity.

Brand first made headlines over several sexual offense allegations in September 2023.

The allegations were reported by multiple media outlets, including The Times and Channel 4’s Dispatches, and involved multiple women accusing him of sexual assault and abuse.

The first five charges against Brand were brought in April 2025, from four separate women. Two more were added in January after two additional women came forward.

At the time, the identities of the new women were not disclosed due to UK rules on sexual assault victims, but it was noted that they were receiving support from authorities, similar to the other women already involved in the case.

In February 2026, Brand appeared in court to enter pleas to the new charges and pleaded not guilty, as he had done with the earlier accusations the previous year.

The first of the allegations against Brand dates back to 1999, and was noted as a rape incident that occurred in the  Bournemouth area.

The next incident was said to have occurred in 2001 and involved Brand allegedly orally raping and sexually assaulting a woman in the Westminster area of London.

A third woman alleges he attempted to force her into a bathroom stall, while a fourth said he kissed and groped her without her consent. This twoi event occured within 2004 and 2005, also within London.

Meanwhile, the newly added allegations were incidents of rape and sexual assault. The former reportedly occurred between February 7 and March 1, 2009, while the sexual assault took place between August 31 and December 1, 2009.

Brand was initially scheduled to stand trial in June, according to the earlier court schedule. However, there was a change in March that pushed the date back to October.

The venue, Southwark Crown Court, remains unchanged and will be presided over by Justice Bennathan.

The delay seemed linked to the new charges brought against the comedian, as the judge explained in his decision that proceeding with the original schedule could leave the court without sufficient time to properly hear all the charges.

He also noted potential difficulties in securing jurors who could commit through the start of the summer holiday period, given the extended duration the new charges would add to the trial.

When Brand’s trial eventually begins, it is now expected to last up to two months, in contrast to the initially planned five-week timeline.

If Brand is found guilty of all the charges, he faces a substantial sentence, with the maximum sentence for rape in the UK being life imprisonment.

Ahead of the trial, a two-day pre-trial hearing will be held on June 16 and 17, where relevant matters to the case will be discussed.
