Bill Cosby‘s accuser does not want to give him a stint of freedom!
The disgraced media personality is facing serious resistance against his bid to get a new trial, as he claimed he was not allowed to defend himself at the previous trial properly.
Bill Cosby has been accused of sexual assault several times in the past, and he has been sentenced to 10 years in jail for one of the allegations.
Inside The Latest Development In Bill Cosby’s Case

The former actor’s accuser, Donna Motsinger, has approached the court to argue that Cosby’s attempt to put his civil court loss behind him. According to her, the comedian had drugged and raped her in 1972, and he should not be allowed to convince the court to throw out the jury’s verdict, which favored her, and grant him a new trial.
The accuser’s attorney has said that his motion to trash the verdict should be tagged dead on arrival because it also came in at the wrong time. Should the judge consider it, Cosby’s accuser’s attorney claims that he is trying to relitigate a case he already lost, including constitutional arguments over California’s sexual abuse revival law that were rejected earlier in the case.
Motsinger also slammed Cosby’s push for a new trial, claiming he deserved a new trial because he was unable to defend himself at the trial. Cozy claimed that his legal team never made any effort to depose key witnesses connected to the origin of a handwritten note they wanted introduced as evidence. The accuser’s team continued that Cosby cannot claim he is in a financial mess, as he even refused to turn in his financial records on time before the trial. TMZ noted that the comedian was slammed with $60M by the jury in total damages in March.
The Actor’s Legal Team Critiqued The Jury’s Conclusion

Following the jury’s verdict that Motsinger should receive $60 million from the comedian in damages, the actor’s attorney broke their silence and protested that she was awarded too much money. As noted by The Blast, Motsinger was awarded $40 million in punitive damages, which the comedian claims is a lot and would reduce a chunk of his net worth.
He continued that the punitive damages award serves no deterrence purposes, as he is just “an 88-year-old man with no sight who lives an isolated life. Cosby was found liable for sexual assault, and Motsinger was awarded $17.5 million for past mental suffering, and $1.75 million for future suffering, in addition to the punitive damages.
Reacting to claims that the comedian drugged her, Cosby admitted that he had received recreational prescriptions for Quaaludes from a gynecologist. He also stated during the deposition that he planned to give these drugs to the women with the intention of getting intimate with them.
Bill Cosby Spent A Decade Behind Bars For Aggravated Indecent Assault

The media personality was sentenced to 10 years in prison after being found guilty on three felony counts of aggravated indecent assault. He was eventually released in 2021 after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned his conviction based on a due process violation.
Two years after his release in 2021, nine women came forward with claims that he assaulted them during the years they worked on his sitcom. According to Lili Bernard, her encounter with the media personality in 1990 was him luring her from New York to Nevada with promises that he would set up a meeting for her with Hollywood producers.
By the time she arrived, Cosby reportedly told her the producers could not make it to the meeting and then told her to come over to his hotel room for a mentoring session. Bernard recalled feeling dizzy and blurry when she took a non-alcoholic beverage, making her believe she was drugged and subsequently raped.
The 88-Year-Old’s Wife Is Not Leaving His Side Despite His Ongoing Controversy

Following overwhelming allegations that Cosby assaulted several women in the past, rumors began to circulate that the comedian was on the brink of losing her marriage due to the case. As shared by The Blast, Cosby’s rep, Andrew Wyatt, clarified that the rumors were false because his wife was not divorcing him, especially as he is going through such a tough time.
The representative continued that at the couple’s age, they had nothing to prove to anyone, and they would see the marriage through. Cosby’s wife also fueled the rumors when she was spotted around town without a ring on her finger. During one of his trials, Camille reportedly defended her husband and slammed the Montgomery County judge after he claimed the comedian had a signature pattern of sexual assault. In Camille’s words:
“Now, after more than 50 years of work that humanized the dehumanized, which also challenged the perpetual architects of racist, exploitive, and greedy maneuvers that have enabled them to divide and conquer…my husband has been severely redefined by Judge O’Neill, despite having zero proof,” Camille declared.
Bill Cosby Earned His Flowers From Raven Symoné Despite Legal Woes

Symoné added her voice to the commentaries that surrounded the comedian’s legal woes, adding a fresh perspective to the narrative. She expressed that what has happened in his private life must remain there and not distract people from how much he has done in the entertainment industry.
Symoné discussed that people should get familiar with how much Cosby did on the business side of the industry, as he broke the record as one of the first entertainers to practice hiring Black crew members behind the scenes. She noted that Cosby’s legacy changed her outlook on the industry and how it became important for her to see people who looked like her before and behind the camera.
She then carried that spirit of seeing the beauty in diversity around with her everywhere she went and on her own shows like “That’s So Raven” spin-off, “Raven’s Home.” In Symoné’s words, “I took it to Disney, and I took it to anywhere I went afterward, even when it wasn’t the norm. I was like, ‘No, I have to be able to see myself.’ Because if I don’t ask for it, who will?”
