The beloved actor, producer, and musician has passed away, taking his final breath on Sunday, April 19, 2026.

Patrick Muldoon died at the age of 57 in his Beverly Hills home after enjoying a peaceful morning with his longtime girlfriend, Miriam Rothbart.

According to new reports, Muldoon passed away on Sunday morning after suffering a heart attack. The incident, per his sister Shana Muldoon-Zappa, occurred after Muldoon had enjoyed a cup of coffee with his lover in their Beverly Hills home.

Muldoon-Zappa told TMZ that her brother had gone to take a shower after his coffee with Rothbart, but did not reappear. Naturally, his lover became worried and went to check on him, only to find Muldoon unconscious on the bathroom floor.

Rothbart, per Muldoon-Zappa’s recollection, immediately called for help, and paramedics soon arrived at the scene. Unfortunately, there was nothing they could do to save Muldoon. The late actor is survived by his girlfriend and loved ones.

The Deceased Entertainer Had A Close-Knit Family

According to US Weekly, the ’90s star had a close-knit family. He was born in September 1968 to William Patrick Muldoon II and Deanna Muldoon. His father was a personal injury lawyer, while his mother was a homemaker. He had only one sibling, his sister Shana Muldoon-Zappa.

Thanks to his only sibling, Muldoon is survived by her husband, Ahmet Zappa, and their children, the late actor’s niece Halo and his nephew Arrow Zappa. Muldoon-Zappa followed in her brother’s footsteps by pursuing a career in the entertainment industry.

Instead of chasing the spotlight, Muldoon-Zappa worked behind the scenes as a writer. She and her husband co-created the Disney book and television series “Star Darlings.” On the other hand, Muldoon became a well-known face in the ’90s for shows such as “Days of Our Lives” and “Melrose Place.”

The TV Personality Was Never Married But Had Long-Term Relationships

Muldoon never tied the knot to anyone, but had two famously known long-term relationships. The first was to his longtime collaborator and friend, Denise Richards, whom he dated for nearly five years in the late 1990s.

The duo’s friendship continued long after their breakup, with Muldoon even appearing on his ex’s reality TV show, “Denise Richards and Her Wild Things,” in March 2025. His appearance caused a stir after Richards’ daughter, Sami Sheen, suspected Muldoon still had feelings for her mother.

However, Muldoon denied the speculations during an interview in October 2025, confirming that he was in a relationship and was only friends with Richards. The woman in question was his longtime girlfriend, Rothbart, whom he reportedly began dating in 2022.

A year before Muldoon reportedly began dating Rothbart, he made waves for his past relationship with actress Lisa Rinna. She spilled the tea during an episode of “PEOPLE in the 90s,” revealing that she had “an affair” with her on-screen brother.

“Well, not an affair, but a couple of one-night stands with the guy who [played] my brother. Patrick Muldoon and I had like a thing,” Rinna claimed. She played Billie Reed on “Days of Our Lives” from 1992 to 1995, while Muldoon played her on-screen brother, Austin Reed.

Although she used the term “affair” to describe her romance with Muldoon, Rinna clarified that their hook-ups happened before she met her husband, Harry Hamlin. The pair tied the knot in 1997 and have been together ever since.

Patrick Muldoon Was ‘Excited’ To Work On A New Project

Besides acting, Muldoon made a name for himself as a film producer. Hollywood Life reported that he worked on multiple projects, including “The Dreadful,” “Riff Raff,” and “The Tribes of Palos Verdes” through his company, Storyboard Productions.

Muldoon also pursued a music career, serving as the lead singer of the band The Sleeping Masses. Before his passing, the late entertainer had been “excited” to work on a new project titled “KOCKROACH.” The movie directed by Matt Ross was set to star Chris Hemsworth, Taron Edgerton, and Alec Baldwin.

Muldoon shared the big news on Instagram just two days before his passing, raving about his involvement as the upcoming film’s executive producer. The post has since been flooded with fans’ tributes, with many dropping RIPs and declaring there would be no one like Muldoon in the industry again.
