Dr. Jill Biden is proving she’s just as invested in “Heated Rivalry” as its most dedicated fans.
During a recent appearance at the NYC LGBT Community Center’s Center Dinner, she joined the bidding for a walk-on role in the queer hockey series’ upcoming season, putting forward a five-figure offer.
Her bid ultimately fell short, overshadowed by competitors willing to pay significantly more. Still, Biden made it clear she had no regrets, later sharing her reaction online as fans rallied behind her enthusiasm.
Dr. Jill Biden Bid $35,000 For The Walk-On Role

Dr. Biden made a serious play for a spot in “Heated Rivalry,” and it came with a hefty price tag.
The former first lady turned heads at a high-profile charity auction hosted by the NYC LGBT Community Center, where she joined a competitive round of bidding for a coveted walk-on role in the series’ upcoming second season. The package also included a dinner with the cast, making it one of the night’s standout prizes.
Biden put forward a $35,000 bid, but it wasn’t enough to seal the deal.
Two anonymous bidders ultimately outpaced the competition, each reportedly putting up $125,000 to secure the roles, leaving Biden just short of landing her on-screen moment.
Dr. Biden Didn’t Have Any Regrets About Making The Bid

Despite the disappointment of losing out, Dr. Biden didn’t let the loss dampen her enthusiasm. Taking to X, she acknowledged missing out on the role but made it clear she had no regrets about the bid.
“Guess I won’t be heading to the cottage after all, but it was worth a shot! What a wonderful evening supporting @LGBTCenterNYC,” Biden wrote, quoting a post about the auction from Variety.
Her response drew praise from members of the LGBTQ community, who applauded her willingness to support the cause. “It’s great to see support for such an important cause; the community appreciates your commitment even if plans had to change,” one user commented.
Dr. Jill Biden Is Set To Release A Memoir In June
Meanwhile, Dr. Biden is set to step back into the spotlight this summer with a deeply personal new project.
Her upcoming book, “View from the East Wing: A Memoir,” is scheduled for release on June 2 and is already drawing attention for what it may reveal about her time in the White House, including the final stretch of her husband’s presidency.
While expectations are building around whether she will address Joe Biden’s decision to end his 2024 reelection bid, the longtime educator has so far framed the book as a reflection on her four years as first lady.
Speaking to The Associated Press, she described the writing process as both emotional and healing. “It was kind of cathartic for me to write it,” she said.
Dr. Biden added that the memoir revisits “sometimes painful, but most of it really beautiful moments that Joe and I shared during his presidency.”
The Ex-First Lady Says Memoir Will ‘Set Record Straight’

Dr. Biden is signaling that her upcoming memoir won’t shy away from the more complicated chapters of her time in the White House.
Offering further insight into the book, she said she has “put things in perspective” regarding her husband’s presidency. This sentiment echoed her earlier announcement video shared on Instagram last month, describing the memoir as a balance of highs and lows.
She also made it clear that one of her goals is to “set the record straight,” including addressing her personal response to the former president’s decision to step aside rather than pursue a second term.
Dr. Jill Biden Shares Update On Joe Biden’s Health

Dr. Biden also offered a rare update on her husband’s health, shedding light on how he’s doing behind the scenes.
Joe Biden was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer in May 2025, which had already spread to his bones. He underwent a course of radiation therapy that was completed in October, and updates had remained limited in the months that followed.
Speaking recently, Dr. Biden acknowledged the long-term nature of the diagnosis. “The fact that it is in his bones means that he will have cancer all his lifetime,” she said, while noting that doctors still expect him to “live out his natural life.”
