A spokesperson for Erika Kirk‘s Turning Point USA blamed the low turnout at the Georgia event on left-wing interference, drawing scrutiny.

The spokesperson claimed that left-wing groups had booked up tickets and then failed to show up as a form of protest.

Critics pushed back on the claim, noting that the event was free and that leftists would be unlikely to spend money on tickets even if that had not been the case.

Despite the presence of VP JD Vance, a TPUSA event in Georgia saw a disappointing turnout. Videos showing rows of empty seats across the venue quickly went viral, sparking widespread trolling from online users.

Shortly after, TPUSA’s spokesperson and executive, Andrew Kolvet, opened up about the situation on the “Real Charlie Kirk” YouTube page to explain the reason for the turnout at the event, which Erika was also absent from.

According to the spokesperson, more than 2,000 people attended, and turnout would have been higher if not for the alleged interference of left-wing groups.

“The left-wing groups swarmed the ticketing, and they try to book up all the ticketing, and they don’t show,” the spokesperson claimed.

“That’s one of their forms of protest,” he continued. “Normally, we are good at sniffing it out, but they used a new means and activities, so we are working with our ticketing systems to adjust for that moving forward.”

Netizens Dismissed The Leftist Excuse From TPUSA As False

Online, fans refused to buy the claims made by the spokesperson and vehemently expressed their stance. Many claimed that the tickets to the events were free, which meant anybody could have attended if they wanted to.

“Shouldn’t someone on the Charlie Kirk channel know this? Not only were the tickets free, but they were also first-come, first-served,” a user commented.

“You lied, you were exposed, and it’s, of course, the Democrats’ fault. What a joke! TPUSA is nothing, absolutely nothing without Charlie,” a second said.

“It’s highly unlikely anyone cared enough to orchestrate a mass registration to then not show up,” another individual said.

Someone else said, “You want to know how he is lying besides the obvious. They would have been bragging about the event being ‘sold out.'”

“Seats were free and barely anyone showed up, then they said Kirk had security issues, but the vice president was safe, so ya know. More lies,” one more wrote.

The response from a TPUSA spokesperson once again drew attention to Erika’s explanation for missing the Georgia event.

She said her absence was due to security concerns, adding that she felt compelled to follow her team’s advice given what her family had been through.

“I was so looking forward to tonight’s event at the @universityofga with our Vice President @JDVance, but after all our family has been through, I take my security team’s recommendations extremely seriously,” Erika wrote at the time.

Turning Point executive Kolvet further echoed her claims during a rally held at the location.

Many people online remained unconvinced by Erika’s excuse, with some, including her late husband’s pal, Candace Owens, suggesting her absence was linked to poor ticket sales.

Others pointed to Vance’s presence at the event, arguing that if he could attend, there was little reason for Erika not to appear.

The credibility of Erika’s claim further declined after a Secret Service source told CBS News that the site was “secure” and that there were “no known threats to the protectee.”

As part of Erika’s schedule, she will be visiting Pinnacle High School, located in northern Phoenix, Arizona.

However, the event, which is being organized by the school’s Club America chapter, has been met with opposition from some students and parents.

One student, Francisco Sanchez, claimed Erika’s topics are “too extremist for a school” and believes there are “better representatives” with less controversial viewpoints who should have been invited instead.

Another student, high school senior Kasandra Acosta, also expressed shock at the proposed appearance, describing it as “a little crazy.”

Meanwhile, one parent said Erika’s appearance could lead to “division” within the school, particularly at a time when the country appears to be increasingly divided over political viewpoints.

“It’s not just your average citizen coming over to speak to the club. She brings politics with her, she brings division with her, just because everybody in America is divided,” said Bobbe Noland, a parent of a Pinnacle student.
