Cher has filed a new court request seeking a temporary conservatorship over her son, Elijah Blue Allman, citing worsening concerns about his mental health, finances, and recent behavior.

In filings to the Los Angeles County Superior Court, the iconic singer alleges his condition has significantly declined since 2023, pointing to substance-related incidents, legal troubles, and financial struggles.

Cher’s petition asks for court-appointed oversight to stabilize his affairs, as supporting declarations and related legal filings add further context.

In documents submitted to the Los Angeles County Superior Court, the singer claims her son’s situation has “significantly deteriorated” since her previous attempt to establish a conservatorship in 2023.

According to TMZ, she alleges that Elijah is currently receiving treatment in a psychiatric facility following a series of troubling incidents, including one in which he was reportedly found unconscious behind the wheel of his car in traffic and required emergency medical intervention involving Narcan, a medication used to reverse opioid overdoses.

Cher, in her filing, argues that Elijah struggles to manage money, claiming he spends funds “almost exclusively on drugs, expensive hotels, and limousine transportation.”

She also claims he has accumulated substantial debt, including a $200,000 tax bill and unpaid expenses tied to property damage at short-term rentals.

In one example, Cher stated that he once owed a drug dealer $18,000 and had to rely on a friend to intervene to prevent harm. She also cites a separate incident involving a $50,000 rental damage bill, which she says led to legal issues for a close friend who has been supporting him.

The court documents filed by Cher further outline a pattern of erratic behavior, including multiple removals from hotels over disturbances and complaints from guests.

In one instance, he is accused of behaving inappropriately toward a hotel staff member as he “aggressively proposed sexual relations.”

Cher additionally references recent legal troubles in New Hampshire, including arrests for “felony burglary, criminal mischief, simple assault, criminal trespass, and breach of bail” earlier this year.

Cher maintains that Elijah’s mental health has declined and that his substance dependency has reached a critical point.

Cher is now requesting that the court appoint a temporary conservator, specifically Jason Rubinto, to manage his estate and help stabilize his situation.

According to the singer, a structured oversight could allow Elijah’s issues to be addressed “one problem at a time.”

The filing also highlights that Elijah is not currently in a relationship with his estranged wife, Marieangela King.

The singer also notes in the court document that any reconnection may be influenced by financial considerations.

Supporting her petition, Devon Allman, late Gregg Allman’s son, submitted a declaration, stating that he believes Elijah poses a risk to himself and is “unable to manage his life and any funds that would become available to him.”

He described a recent visit as deeply distressing, saying it took him weeks to process what he witnessed, and characterized Elijah’s physical and mental state as severely “appalling and delusional.”

Devon also claimed he once “had to negotiate with a heroin dealer for a five-figure sum of drug debts,” which he described as “very difficult to navigate.”

Elijah previously responded to Cher’s 2023 conservatorship request by acknowledging past substance use issues but stated he had been “clean and sober” for a period at the time and was willing to undergo drug testing.

As of now, he has not publicly responded to the latest legal move.

Separately, Elijah’s estranged wife, King, said in a court filing that he was hospitalized following two arrests earlier this year.

In a declaration dated April 14, King stated that Elijah is currently receiving medical care after being arrested in February on charges including assault and criminal trespassing, followed by another arrest in March related to an alleged break-in in New Hampshire.

She emphasized that her request to the court is focused on “addressing existing court-ordered support that has not been paid.”

The former couple, who married in 2013 and separated in 2020, are now in the process of finalizing their divorce, which King filed for in April 2025. She is asking that payments be made directly to her through the trustee of Elijah’s estate, Michael Lehman.

According to her filing, Lehman had agreed during a November 2025 conversation to make payments totaling $24,000. King said she is urging the court to consider “available resources, including the estate, to satisfy existing obligations during a time when he is not able to manage these matters himself.”
