Who is “the most trolled person in the entire world”? Meghan Markle or Donald Trump?

The Duchess of Sussex has come under the radar for declaring herself to be “the most trolled person in the entire world.” A senator from inside Capitol Hill has moved to settle the scores between the public figures and declare who the winner is.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have not been in Trump’s good books. The president has called them out on different occasions, even referring to the “Suits” actress as a “terrible person.”

Meghan spoke to a group of youths on the dangers of social media during her Australian trip.  She highlighted the mental effects, citing her personal experience with scrutiny from different angles of her life online. In the bid to buttress her point, the former Hollywood icon told her listeners that she was bullied and attacked every day online for a decade, adding that she’s “the most trolled person in the world.”

Senator Ted Cruz disagrees with the claim, stating that the title belongs to President Donald Trump. He chatted with TMZ from inside Capitol Hill, where he expressed that he begs to differ with Meghan’s statement. The Texas senator explained that Trump is the most trolled person on the planet, and the Duchess of Sussex does not even come close.

Cruz praised Meghan as a phenomenal actress for her work on the popular legal drama, “Suits,” but made it clear that, in his opinion, Trump takes home that medal. Cruz is no stranger to trolls himself. He shared that he gets a lot of trolls, which he has no problem with. The senator noted that he often laughs them off or trolls back.

Early last year, the topic of Prince Harry’s residency status made headlines, tagged with the million-dollar question, whether the president will have him deported. Trump addressed the matter in a previous interview where he disclosed that he wouldn’t be pursuing deportation proceedings against Harry.

This news came as a shock to many because the POTUS had previously announced that he could have Harry deported if investigations found connections between the Duke and harmful drugs. Still in the same interview, the president poked at Meghan, describing her as having enough problems for Harry and a terrible person.

In his words, “I don’t want to do that, I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.” As reported by The Blast, Trump also said at the time that the Duke had done an unforgivable deed by betraying the Queen.

Harry’s visa status raised suspicion after he published his memoir, “Spare,” where he admitted to using cocaine, smoking marijuana, and experimenting with magic mushrooms as a teenager.

As a result, the Conservative Think Tank, the Heritage Foundation, alleged that he may have concealed illegal drug use that should have denied him a U.S. visa. The foundation set up a lawsuit against the British royal seeking to have his visa records released.

In their suit, the Heritage Foundation cited his admission in their lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security, raising the argument that if he did not detail his drug use in it, his stay in the country could be rendered invalid. According to the United States Department of State, visa applicants can be determined ineligible based on convictions for drug offenses.

In January,  Trump made a statement suggesting that NATO troops did not actively make moves on the battlefield during the conflict. His words seemingly downplayed the role of British troops in Afghanistan as he said that they stayed “a little off the frontlines” during the conflict.

The statement did not sit right with Harry, who responded by channeling his personal experience from serving in the military and doing two tours in Afghanistan. The Duke stressed that the sacrifices of British soldiers are to be respected, as many laid down their lives in the field.

“I served there. I made lifelong friends. I lost friends. Thousands of lives were changed forever. Mothers and fathers buried sons and daughters. Children were left without a parent. Families are left carrying the cost. Those sacrifices deserve to be spoken about truthfully and with respect,” Harry’s response read. The Blast reported that Meghan shared a photo online of her husband during his military service, seemingly in support of his words to Trump.

Since stepping down from their office as working royals, the ousted royal couple have shifted their focus to doing work for charity in different areas of the globe, raising awareness and advocating for those affected by conflict. However, at a State banquet held at Windsor Castle last September, Trump gave a speech where he solely praised Prince Williams, describing him as the King’s “remarkable son.”

Throughout his address, the politician did not mention Harry, even when he spoke about philanthropic acts. The Blast reported that Trump instead accorded praise to King Charles in that aspect, saying that he “uplifted the poor, cared for rural farmers, and tended to wounded veterans like nobody else.”

Trump went on to talk about how he was delighted to visit the royal family and also spoke about the thriving relationship between the U.S and the U.K. Later in his speech, Trump said the United States, working in conjunction with the United Kingdom, had done more good for humanity than any two countries in history.
