Uh oh! David Charvet is in hot water involving a dead pet!
The French-American actor reportedly killed one of three dogs in Malibu with a truck while their owner took them out on a walk on the morning of Thursday, April 16.
David Charvet made headlines alongside his son for joining other concerned individuals on a Malibu highway in 2022 to rescue an affected victim from a badly damaged car.
Dog Owner Claims David Charvet Did Not Stop, But Called The Police
In an account made by the dog owner, Vera Errico, she recalled walking her three dogs on a leash in the gated Malibu community when Charvet came along in a truck, wreaking havoc.
Errico stated that Charvet did not stop even after he hit the dog, rather he drove outside the community and then called the police. Charvet’s action is in line with the required protocol for anyone involved in a hit and run, especially if the accident results in an injury or property damage.
Errico identified the affected dog as her 11-year-old English Labrador, which was rushed to the vet after the accident and ultimately euthanized. As shared by TMZ, sources at the Lost Hills Sheriff station confirmed that they have been in contact with Vera and have sent deputies to get a report from her.
Law Enforcement Is Not Treating The Accident As A ‘Hit & Run’
An update followed up on the case as sources affirmed that the station does not consider the incident a hit and run since the actor took a proactive step in involving law enforcement.
Upon reaching Vera, deputies began taking a traffic collision report, which confirmed that the dog indeed died and the three of them were well attached to the leash during the early morning walk. The actor, however, has a different account about the collision, including the fact that the dog was not on a leash at the time of the collision.
He also documented his attempt to swerve on the road to avoid hitting the dog. Vera and her husband also headed to the police station to file a police report for a hit-and-run. The accident comes years after the famous actor stepped away from the limelight of Hollywood for a much quieter life.

The TV star and his son, Shaya, were highway superheroes about four years ago when they offered a helping hand to a woman stuck in a car during a Malibu accident. As noted by The Daily Mail, Charvet and his son were among the first responders to pull the woman from the dented car.
Since taking a step back from the daunting schedules of Hollywood life, Charvet decided to prioritize spending quality time with his children. He had described the move as making himself into the father he wanted to be by putting his kids to bed every night and waking up as soon as they got out of bed.
The lifestyle change came with the birth of his first child, stating, “’I didn’t want to go and take a TV show that was in Canada, I didn’t want to travel to Europe to do my music. I wanted to stay home, and I wanted to be a good dad. I wanted to be there for my children every single day.” Charvet’s last time on the TV screen was on “Prisoners of the Sun” in 2013, after which he appeared on the screen in 2017 for an appearance on “The Celebrity Apprentice” alongside his then-wife, Brooke Burke.
Charvet Caught The Heat For Making Threatening Statements During A Fight With His Ex
The “Melrose Place” actor was mentioned in a criminal threat report as a suspect after his ex-girlfriend, Boskovich, mentioned that he had threatened her while they had a heated argument in 2023.
As stated by TMZ, they got into a fight about their lifestyles, and Charvet went to the extreme, telling her it would not end well for her, thus causing her to panic and file a police report with the Los Angeles Police Department.
Charvet, however, insisted that the LAPD had not contacted him on the investigation and was unaware of the allegations being made against him by his former lover. The story about Charvet and Boskovich broke about three years after he finalized his divorce from his ex-wife, Burke, in 2020, and agreed to split the physical and legal custody of their children 50/50.

PEOPLE shared that the singer and Burke separated in 2018 after seven years together, with the latter revealing that the end of their marriage was caused by nothing sensational. In her statement, the mother of four declared:

The actor also won another Malibu property in the settlement, and walked away with a share in their art collection, while also agreeing to pay their individual attorney fees.
The media personality also got ownership of two of their fitness companies, while the actor got the Malibu Stone and Building Materials company. She subsequently moved on with Scott Rigsby while Charvet found love with model Oksana Rykova.
