Lauren “Lo” Ollivierre is finally opening up about her chaotic experience on “Love Overboard,” and she’s not holding back. In an interview conducted by Casino.org, which included a set of questions provided exclusively by The Blast, Lo shared candid responses specifically reserved for The Blast about her relationship with David, the infamous plank ceremony, and what viewers didn’t see on screen.
Lo Says David Wasn’t ‘Playing A Game,’ But Wasn’t Honest With Himself While On ‘Love Overboard’
Looking back, Lo believes David did have genuine intentions, just not the self-awareness to back them up. “As far as David being invested in the relationship, I definitely think he was,” she said. “It was something he wanted to be able to pursue, and he wanted to be attracted to someone more natural, but I think he wasn’t there yet.”
“I don’t think he was play a game or lying to me. I think he was more-so lying to himself and trying to convince himself that something like this would work,” the reality star continued. “He is really into enlargements and enhancements, and I don’t have that. He should just be true to himself. If you like big boobs, then just find girls with big boobs and leave me alone.”
The Moment Everything Started To Feel ‘Off’
While Lo said she didn’t initially doubt David, that changed quickly during one of the show’s most intense moments. “I didn’t really have a point in time where I felt that way, until I was on the plank for maybe a minute or two,” she recalled. “Then I clocked that something is very off and something must’ve happened on the date.”
“But as far as our relationship [beforehand], I didn’t really have any doubts,” she admitted. “He reassured me a lot. He had some insecurities that I would have to reassure him about, but that kind of weirdly made me feel good. We’re kind of switching places here, as he’s the one who needs reassuring.”
Inside The Viral ‘Love Overboard’ 45-Minute Plank Decision
The now-infamous plank ceremony turned out to be just as brutal in real life as it looked on screen. “The 45 minutes on the plank was insane, and it was actually 45 minutes,” she said. “It was a lot of confusion and shock. I definitely felt like the rug was kind of pulled from under me because it was like the last thing that I expected. This decision being hard for him.”
“It wasn’t just me who thought this, all the other cast members thought so too,” Lo continued. “After 10-15 minutes, I was super irritated. Just make a decision!”
The reality star also revealed that “everyone was so irritated and confused because we were all in the dark about why he was even struggling to begin with.”
Lo Admits She Was Already ‘Checked Out’
By the time the decision dragged on, Lo says she had mentally moved on, even if she still wanted closure. “I was definitely mentally checked out at that point, but it was weird,” she said. “I wanted him to choose me so that I can have a conversation with him, not to run off into the sunset together.
“When your person goes on a date, you don’t see them all day,” Lo continued. “The next time you do, it’s at the plank. You can’t even talk to other cast members right before the plank ceremony.”
What ‘Love Overboard’ Viewers Didn’t See
According to Lo, there was much more depth to their relationship than what made it to air. “The ins and outs of our relationships, belief systems, our families, the things we had in common,” she said. “All we did everyday was talk, and that wasn’t shown.”
She also hinted that key red flags were left out entirely, explaining, “The fact that none of them were shown…that was a decision. We had a lot of conversations about some of the insecurities he had; how we can be a very spiteful person and the ways that he had handled past relationships.”
Lo added, “Just days away from when the shipwreckers came in, he was worried about certain outfits that I wore. There’s a whole laundry list of things, and I covered this in my letter, which they took out of my letter too.”
Where She Stands With David And Val Now
Lo confirmed she has spoken to both David and Val since filming, but her perspective has shifted over time. “Yes, I’ve spoken to both of them, respectively,” she said. “After the show, for me and David, I kind of threw the bone out there and thought maybe we could be cool. I wanted to just move on, it wasn’t a big deal.”
However, she realized that once things sank in, “I was like ‘wait, this guy literally sucks. I don’t want him in my life’. Then I deleted his number.”
David reached out a few weeks before the show had started, just “to smooth things over,” but it’s now been a year, and she “doesn’t feel that strongly about him.”
“In terms of Val, it was out there that she had messaged me and told me how he was unfaithful to her in great detail, which is not something I would ever do if I was the other person in this situation,” she admitted. “But it probably was not the smartest move on her end.”
She continued, “When I was asked about it, I shared that I had spoken to her. We’re kind of on this ‘f-ck David thing’, but it seems like that narrative has been lost and it’s not ‘f-ck David’ anymore.”
Would She Do Reality TV Again?
Despite everything, Lo isn’t ruling out another shot at reality TV. “I would do another dating reality show and I would just have so much more fun with it,” she revealed. “It would be a lot better exploring different guys instead of being locked into one.”
In fact, she would love a shot on “Perfect Match.” “It’ll be nice for people to see my personality more, the lighter side of me,” she said.
