Erika Kirk wants to take a hands-on approach in the case involving her husband’s alleged murderer.

The mother of two has asked the court to grant her request to have attorney Jeffrey Adam Nieman, who is based in Florida, represent her interests in the trial of Tyler Robinson.

Erika Kirk had previously expressed her desire for a speedy trial for Robinson earlier in the year, stating that it is her right as a victim.

As legal proceedings surrounding Charlie Kirk’s murder case continue, his wife, Erika Kirk, has made a legal move that may come as a surprise to some.

In a motion filed in the 4th District Court of Utah, the TPUSA CEO asked the court to allow her interests to be represented by Florida-based attorney Jeffrey Adam Nieman, per Deseret.

Nieman, who has represented figures such as social media influencer Logan Paul and singer Trey Songz, was retained by the widow last year following her husband’s brutal public murder.

Although he is not licensed to practice law in Utah, he can serve “pro hac vice” for the widow, which is a temporary permission for the occasion. Meanwhile, Park City attorney Brennan H. Moss, who filed the motion, will act as local counsel.

Erika has yet to explain her decision, though it appears to reflect a desire to take a more hands-on role in the case.

This legal move is not the first from Erika amid the ongoing proceedings to bring her husband’s alleged killer to justice.

Earlier in the year, she filed a motion asking the court to grant a speedy trial for Robinson, stating that it is her right as a victim under Utah law.

“The Utah Code affords victims of a crime ‘the right to a speedy disposition of the charges free from unwarranted delay caused by or at the behest of the defendant,'” read the filing as obtained by the New York Post.

“This Court is tasked with the critically important function of ensuring the Defendant has a fair trial, but this Court must also do so while balancing Mrs. Kirk’s right to a speedy trial, and therefore this Notice invokes Mrs. Kirk’s rights under applicable Utah Code,” the doc further read.

Robinson, who is accused of killing Charlie on September 10 during a TPUSA event at the campus of Utah Valley University, faces the death penalty if found guilty.

While many have supported this move from prosecutors, Erika has refused to take a stance despite being the most affected.

In an interview with The New York Times weeks after her husband’s murder, she revealed that she would prefer to leave the decision in the hands of the government.

“I’ve had people ask, ‘Do you feel anger toward this man? Like, do you want to seek the death penalty?’ I’ll be honest. I told our lawyer, I want the government to decide this,” the mother of two told the outlet at the time.

Her reason seemed tied to her Christian faith, as she noted that it would affect her relationship with her God.

“I do not want that man’s blood on my ledger. Because when I get to heaven, and Jesus is like: “Uh, eye for an eye? Is that how we do it?” And that keeps me from being in heaven, from being with Charlie?” the TPUSA CEO further remarked.

Robinson’s next court hearing is scheduled for April 17.

The hearing is expected to be an evidentiary type during which arguments will be made over whether cameras and microphones should be permitted in the courtroom for the trial and other proceedings.

Ahead of the hearing, Robinson’s defense has filed a motion for cameras to be barred on that day, and a decision is yet to be delivered by Judge Tony Graf.

Unlike Robinson and his lawyers, Erika is of the opinion that cameras should be fully allowed and expressed her stance in an interview in November.

“There were cameras all over my husband when he was murdered,” the widow told Fox News Jesse Watters at the time.

“There have been cameras all over my friends and family mourning. There have been cameras all over me, analyzing my every move, analyzing my every smile, my every tear. We deserve to have cameras in there,” she added.
