Angel Reese is feeling deja vu. In a new interview, the former Chicago Sky star opened up about her stunning trade to the Atlanta Dream and what that could mean for her third season in the WNBA.

Angel Reese has been at the top of her game lately. Not only did she make her Team USA debut alongside Paige Bueckers and Kiki Irafen, but the LSU alum recently made headlines as the first WNBA player to star in a Victoria’s Secret campaign.

Reese was on the panel at the Coach Story Sessions in Los Angeles on Wednesday. During the event, Reese touched on the recent news of her trade from the Sky to the Dream, per the Chicago Sun-Times.

“Transferring from Maryland and going to LSU and winning a championship, it feels like deja vu right now,” Reese said.

While WNBA free agency is still ongoing, Reese said she was eager to start her tenure in Atlanta.

“And I get chills right now because being a part of Chicago my first two years and going to Atlanta, I just feel that urge right now that I’m going to win again,” she said.

According to The Blast, Reese was traded to the Dream in an effort to rebuild the Sky’s roster.

“This trade is designed to achieve roster balance and represents a great opportunity for all parties,” Jeff Pagliocca said. “Angel has achieved many record-breaking milestones in her first two years in the WNBA and has been a competitive force for the Sky. We are thankful for her many important contributions to this league and this game, and we know she will continue to have a big impact on the court and beyond.”

“We wish Angel all the best in her next chapter,” Pagliocca added.

Reese’s trade also comes after the contentious end to her second season with the Sky.

“I’m not settling for the same s— we did this year,” Reese said in the summer of 2025. “We have to get good players. We have to get great players. That’s a nonnegotiable for me. I’m willing and wanting to play with the best.”

Reese’s move to Atlanta should be a good fit for her, as she’ll be teamed up with All-Stars Allisha Gray, Rhyne Howard, Britney Griner, and Brionna Jones.

“I’m focused on continuing to grow my game, competing at the highest level, connecting with the fans, and giving everything I’ve got to the Dream,” she said.

The Dream’s general manager, Dan Padover, spoke highly of Reese after the deal was finalized, calling her a “dynamic talent and a perfect fit.”

“She has already proven herself as one of the most impactful players in the league, and her competitiveness, production and drive to win align seamlessly with our vision. This is an exciting moment for our organization and our fans,” he said.

Reese’s move to Atlanta wasn’t her only major play this week—she also made history as the new face of Victoria’s Secret, marking the first time a WNBA athlete has headlined a collection for the brand.

The billboard, which shows Reese posing on the beach in Barbados, comes after the 23-year-old also made headlines as the first WNBA player to walk in the brand’s iconic fashion show.

Securing the gig didn’t come easy, though. Reese said she manifested it the year before.

“I make a vision board every year, and I actually put one of the pictures of Tyra [Banks] from the [Victoria’s Secret] Fashion Show on it. I went to the 2024 show, and I was like, “I’m going to do this.” I didn’t even know Tyra was gonna be in the 2024 one, and I had a picture of her on my vision board, so when I did it in 2025, it was just like a dream come true,” Reese said.

She added, “So I knew when I was sitting in the seat and watching in 2024, I was like, ‘I’m gonna do it next year.’ And it happened. [It] wasn’t easy, but [it was] definitely a blessing.”

Another report from The Blast details Reese’s reasoning for launching her podcast, “Unapologetically Angel.”

“It’s important to have your own narrative and be able to take control of that,” she said. “I wanted to have my own name and be able to break my own news on my podcast.”

Reese’s show, which can be streamed on YouTube and Spotify, has featured a handful of notable stars, from athletes to reality stars to rappers.

“It’s also important for guests to be able to come on and talk about their upcoming things, be unapologetic, speak their truth, and just have fun,” Reese said.
