Erika Kirk is once again on the receiving end of social media trolls after a viral video showed her crying in the backseat of a moving car while being hailed by supporters. The moment hasn’t landed well with critics online, with some accusing Kirk of staging a “drive-by cry” for attention.
The backlash follows growing online chatter linking the Turning Point USA CEO to a recent satirical clip by comedian Druski, which mocked conservative white women. The situation gained even more traction after Donald Trump publicly encouraged Kirk to take legal action over the parody and against her other “haters.”
Erika Kirk Sparks Fan Backlash For ‘Drive-By Cry’

Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika, has found herself at the center of another social media controversy after the resurfaced video of her appearing emotional in the back seat of a moving car.
In the clip, Kirk is seen sitting by the window with it rolled down as the vehicle moves through a crowd. When the camera turns toward her, she appears to tear up, briefly covering her mouth with her hand.
The moment quickly went viral, with critics accusing her of staging what some have since dubbed a “drive-by cry” for the cameras.
Social Media Users Mock The Viral Moment
Social media users were quick to weigh in, with many openly mocking the now-viral clip and questioning whether the emotional display was genuine.
Some users debated whether Kirk was crying at all or simply playing to the camera, while others ridiculed the moment outright.
“Did she do a cry drive by?” one user mocked.
“So many retards still out there supporting this scammer. She’s not transparent about anything. TPUSA is big business. Corrupted by the usual suspects,” another commenter said, this time on X.
Meanwhile, several fans defended Kirk, with one writing, “Leave the lady alone, she is a widow, let her grieve however she wants.”
Druski’s Parody Video Pulled Erika Kirk Into The Spotlight

The fallout from Kirk’s newest video comes several weeks after she was dragged into a separate social media storm sparked by a parody video from Druski.
In the clip, titled “How Conservative Women in America Act,” the comedian dressed up as a character believed by viewers to be based on Kirk. He donned a blonde wig, heavy makeup, and exaggerated his mannerisms across several skits.
The video also quickly gained traction online, with many pointing out similarities between Druski’s character and Kirk’s various public appearances since her husband’s death.
Trump Urges Erika To Sue Druski

The clash between Kirk and Druski has also caught Trump’s attention, who weighed in on the controversy during a recent White House event.
Speaking to the conservative commentator during an Easter lunch event earlier this month, the president urged Kirk to sue Druski over the parody, as well as her other detractors.
“I think you should sue them,” Trump said. “They’re so jealous of Erika… I told her, you ought to sue some of these… I can say it, you’re not allowed to say this, you have to be nicer: sue their -ss off.”
Erika Paid Tributes To Late Husband

Amid the criticism, Kirk has continued to honor her late husband, Charlie, in public. In September 2025, the outspoken activist suffered a fatal gunshot during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University.
In a recent Instagram post, his wife shared a heartfelt message to honor his memory. Kirk posted a video of their two children, reflecting on how she continues to see his presence in their daily lives.
“I see you in them. Especially during the smallest moments that no one else would notice,” she wrote in the caption. “Such a tenderness. It’s almost like this holy shaping that I’m witnessing in real time.”
The grieving widow described their children as a constant, walking reminder of Charlie.
“They’re my living reminders,” Kirk continued, “Pieces of you so precious in my arms.”
The 37-year-old, who was recently appointed to a key advisory board of the US Air Force Academy by Trump, added that the kids remain her main source of solace in his absence.
“It’s within these little loves that I find a quiet healing. In them, I carry you forward,” Kirk said.
