Nicki Minaj just proved once again that she doesn’t even have to try to trend. A resurfaced look from her 2017 Paris Fashion Week appearance is back in circulation, and it’s got the timeline in absolute chaos all over again.

Nicki Minaj Leaves Little To The Imagination At Paris Fashion Week

The “Barbie Dreams” rapper attended the show in a bold, one-shoulder, single-sleeve Mugler top that exposed her left breast, covered only by shiny silver diamond-shaped Agent Provocateur pastie.

The rest of the outfit came together with Givenchy leather shorts, purple Veronique Leroy sunglasses, Alexander Vauthier shoes, silver rings by Pristine, and a sleek black wig parted at the center.

When photos of the look first surfaced, many online users pointed out similarities to Lil’ Kim’s one-breast-baring pastie outfit at the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards, especially given their long-running tension.

Minaj, however, indicated the look was inspired by Pablo Picasso’s 1907 painting “La Femme à l’Éventail.”

Fans Critique The Look

On April 2 this year, one fan account reminded fans of the look, racking up millions of views, thousands of likes, and hundreds of comments.

This time, the conversation shifted from comparisons to critiquing the display of “nudity” itself. Someone commented, “Wtf women really think that only nipples are nude but not the whole boobs.” Another expressed confusion, “Only the nipple is the private part now?”

Others echoed the same confusion, turning the post into a full-blown discourse. However, a few users were pleased with the throwback. “Queen for a reason,” one wrote.

Nicki Minaj Has Always Pushed The Limits

If that look had users foaming at the mouth, then Nicki Minaj’s visuals from the “Trollz” music video with 6ix9ine will likely send them into shock.

In one resurfaced still from the video, she appeared fully topless except for colorful, star-shaped pasties on her areolas. The “Ananconda” rapper styled her vibrant, multicolored wig in pigtails with candy-like accessories, while sticking out her tongue as she looked down at her exposed curves.

The look was loud, playful, and completely on brand for Minaj. However, the comments were not so fun. Critics dragged everything from her style to her political views.

Nicki Minaj’s ‘Queen’ Studio Album Cover Art Was The Bomb

Back in 2018, Nicki Minaj dropped her fourth studio album “Queen,” which had a scandalous cover art photo that a fan account on X resurfaced earlier this month. Minaj was topless once again, covering just her nipples with two jeweled pasties.

Reclining seductively on a thick tree branch, she delivered a Cleopatra-meets-goddess vibe in an elaborate gold headdress with turquoise beads and dangling chains framing her face, a heavy, layered necklace, and see-through jeweled brief bottoms.

The photo aged so well that it was later added to the collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, solidifying it as more than just album art.

What Happened With NM6?

Last year, Nicki Minaj announced a March 27 release date for her sixth studio album, often called “NM6,” and the excitement was through the roof. Now it’s April, and there’s still no album.

Earlier this year, however, there were mentions of delays due to contract renegotiations with Republic Records and other issues. Minaj made it clear that she won’t release new music until she gets a better deal.
