Angel Reese brings the fans out. The LSU alum’s announcement about her stunning trade to the Atlanta Dream from the Chicago Sky is all anyone has been talking about during the current WNBA free agency. Her Instagram picture has racked up nearly 600,000 likes in less than two days and has also garnered the attention of major celebrities.
Angel Reese Is Moving To Atlanta And Bringing All Of The Hype With Her
As reported by The Blast, Chicago parted ways with Reese after two seasons with the team in a shocking trade on the first day of free agency. Reese’s departure, however, wasn’t as surprising for loyal WNBA fans, given she bumped heads with ownership in 2025 after making critical comments about the team.
Reese’s impact on the Chicago Sky was undeniable. Not only did she lead the team in every statistical category, but the team was also 1-13 when Reese wasn’t on the floor. She concluded her season averaging 14.7 points and 12.6 rebounds.
Reese broke the news of her trade with a post that’s since gone viral on Instagram and X. “An Angel’s DREAM! ATL WHAT UP?! @atlantadream,” she captioned the flick, which sent a wave of excitement through users.
Atlanta’s NBA team, the Hawks, commented, “ATL let’s gooooo,” while the official Footlocker account wrote, “ATL got a real 1!”

The excitement didn’t stop there. Tennis legend Coco Gauff wrote, “Looks like I’m making a trip!! Yessss,” while actor Keith Powers said he and his wife, Ryan Destiny, would make an appearance at an upcoming game.
Rapper Latto, who has been vocal about her love of Reese, said, “AHHHHHHHHHH,” and rapper Lady London said, “Yessss I’m coming to ya first gameeeee.”
Flo Milli congratulated the Victoria’s Secret model, and Olympian Suni Lee said, “YES!”
Angel Reese Is Going To Atlanta With A Mission In Mind

Shortly after the news of her trade became public, Reese released a statement, saying the move would allow her to focus on improving.
“I’m focused on continuing to grow my game, competing at the highest level, connecting with the fans, and giving everything I’ve got to the Dream,” she said.
Atlanta Dream general manager feels the same way, calling Reese a “dynamic talent and a perfect fit” for their organization.
“She has already proven herself as one of the most impactful players in the league, and her competitiveness, production and drive to win align seamlessly with our vision. This is an exciting moment for our organization and our fans,” Padover said.
And while the move out from Chicago likely stings for some Sky fans, Reese shared a special message with them on her way out.
“To the city of Chicago: You showed me real love from day one,” she said in a video on Instagram. “Thank you, Chicago. [I’m] always Chi-Town Barbie.”
Reese Is Doing The Unthinkable Just Before Her 3rd Season

According to a previous report by The Blast, Angel Reese is also making headlines for her recent Victoria’s Secret campaign.
For those unfamiliar, Reese became the first WNBA player to walk in a VS Fashion Show and to be named an ambassador for the iconic brand in October 2025.
And while securing the gig wasn’t easy, Reese knew it would happen. “I make a vision board every year, and I actually put one of the pictures of Tyra [Banks] from the [Victoria’s Secret] Fashion Show on it. I went to the 2024 show, and I was like, “I’m going to do this.” I didn’t even know Tyra was gonna be in the 2024 one, and I had a picture of her on my vision board, so when I did it in 2025, it was just like a dream come true,” Reese said.
What Else Is Reese Doing?

In addition to modeling, Angel Reese is also acting. According to The Blast, the WNBA star appeared in an Idris Elba Netflix film and also secured a role in the upcoming season of “The Hunting Wives.”
On an episode of her podcast, she told her guest that she wanted to take acting more seriously and revealed that she planned to work with a professional to help her reach the next level.
“I want to get an acting coach,” Reese said. “I was talking to Common — he’s overseas right now shooting season 2 of ‘Silo’ — and he was telling me, ‘You got to hire an acting coach.’”
“I model already, so it’s like adding to the résumé. I’m young right now, so I’m going to do it while I’m young,” she added.
