An audio recording in which the late Charlie Kirk appeared to name his wife, Erika Kirk, as his successor is now facing growing questions over its authenticity.

The clip, played at a TPUSA event, was intended to reinforce the widow’s credibility after the board officially named her as Charlie’s successor. However, Candace Owens, a friend of the late right-wing influencer, has alleged that the recording sounds edited and lacks consistency.

She also questioned why Erika Kirk and the nonprofit have yet to release a video version of the recording they claim exists, while dismissing their concerns that people may deem such a clip AI-generated.

After initially questioning the authenticity of the succession audio of Erika played at Amfest, Owens presented a full analysis on her YouTube page to reinforce her stance.

Owens said the audio sounds “very clearly edited” and played it for her listeners while pointing out what she described as inconsistencies.

She specifically highlighted the moment Charlie appeared to name his wife as his successor, noting that he was initially speaking about his nonprofit’s strong board before abruptly shifting to say he appoints his wife as his successor if anything were to happen to him.

“It seems out of place. At the very least, we can determine that it is clearly an edited audio. That’s that’s very clearly edited audio,” Owens stated.

Candace Owens Claims Most People She Contacted Could Not Confirm The Charlie Kirk Succession Audio

Elsewhere in her analysis, Owens questioned why only the audio was played at the TPUSA event, even though a video of it allegedly existed.

“That’s a very curious decision because if you do in fact have a video of Charlie naming his wife to the position of CEO, wouldn’t that be the most powerful footage that you could possibly release to get the public to rally behind her?” she asked.

Owens then revealed that she dug deeper to uncover the truth by contacting individuals who attended the original event where the audio was allegedly recorded.

However, three out of the four people she spoke to claimed they did not remember Charlie making the succession statement, while the fourth person who said they did recall it has ties to the nonprofit beyond a donor relationship.

The Alleged ‘Faked’ Audio Has Sparked A Furious Debate, With Candace Owens Questioning TPUSA’s AI Concerns

On social media, a popular right-wing account shared a clip of Owens’ analysis of the allegedly “faked” audio, noting that the podcaster had opened the “flood gates,” further writing that “Charlie Kirk’s Alleged ‘Death Wish’ CONTRADICTS His Entire Life’s Work.”

Another person wrote, “If Charlie was worried about being killed as CEO, why would he want the only remaining guardian of his children to take the EXACT position that got him killed? Seems like a dangerous position to want your wife to assume immediately after you’re killed for it.”

Over on Owens’ YouTube page, an individual wondered why this one video is being closely guarded: “Quick question… they’ll show a video of Charlie dead in a casket but won’t show a video of Charlie announcing that his wife should take over TPUSA if necessary? Asking for a friend.”

The person’s point echoed Owens’ critics in her video analysis of the successor audio, in which she slammed the organization’s worries that the video may be deemed AI-generated.

Owens said, “Why are you bringing up AI? Am I hallucinating, or does Turning Point regularly share videos of Charlie Kirk all the time? So why is this one you’re worried about people thinking it’s AI?”

She continued, “…Now they’re suddenly concerned that if they release one more crucial video, people will think it’s a hologram or AI or an Israeli actor. Why does that feel more like a confession to me? Like they’re trying to get ahead of something? Like this might be the reason they didn’t release it in the first place?”

In response to Owens’ accusations, one of the key figures at TPUSA, Blake Neff, claimed the organization did not release a video because of “psychopathic predators” like Owens, who they said do not care whether something is true or false.

The remark was quickly addressed by Owens, who doubled down on her questions about why the alleged succession video was not released alongside the audio.

“Turning Point is now claiming that they made the decision to strip only the audio of Charlie saying ‘I want Erika to take over my company if something happens to me,’ and declined to release the associated video footage because of ‘psychopathic predators,'” she said

“Are we buying this?” the YouTuber further asked her followers.

Owens then followed up with a sarcastic remark, mocking how the video is not being released because it could incite “psychopathic predators,” even though the audio was used as Erika’s “walk-out music” at Amfest.

People Have Shared Mixed Reactions Over Candace Owens’ Claims Against The Widow

Owen’s latest reaction brought in a trove of remarks from other concerned netizens about the authenticity of the succession audio and video.

“Has to be AI. We have hours of video and clips where he stated his beliefs quite adamantly. Why would he want his wife, the mother of his children, to step into such a high-pressure, dangerous position?” a user said of the audio.

“Sounds like either it doesn’t exist, or they aren’t done tampering/manufacturing it so it doesn’t look like ai created it,” another user remarked about the yet-to-be-released video.

Some other netizens defended the stance of TPUSA and slammed Owens for her witch hunt of Erika.

“They really do not owe you anything. And frankly, after you’ve defamed all of them, why should they cooperate with you?” someone remarked.

Another commented, “No one owes you anything. You don’t have the ‘right’ to demand all these things from everyone. Who do you think you are?”

In the meantime, Erika has yet to directly address the growing scrutiny over the alleged Charlie succession audio, but has sent out cease-and-desist letters to several right-wing influencers and figures, including Owens, demanding that they take down defamatory posts about her and her organization, TPUSA.
