The ABC star’s former partner noted that their court hearing on Tuesday came with moves to assassinate her character as a father to their child. According to Dakota’s attorney, Joel Kittrell, Dakota is very concerned about the welfare of their son and would not stand to be accused of being an absent father, and assured that they would share their truth at the next hearing on April 30.
During the court appearance, Taylor’s filing for a restraining order came with a pile of pictures from an alleged violent encounter with Dakota, where he assaulted her in May 2025. She added that he also left her with knee bruises and injuries on her forehead during an assault in February 2026.
As noted by TMZ, she also claimed that Dakota stalked, assaulted her, and became increasingly possessive ahead of her debut as “The Bachelorette,” although the season was canceled. The reality star is currently the subject of not one, but three police investigations launched due to her alleged abusive behavior towards Dakota during their relationship.

The television star added in her filing that her ex-boyfriend got a tattoo in her honor, which spooked her greatly. As noted by The Blast, Taylor stated that the tattoo consisted of an image of his lips with her initials inside.
She stated that he shared this with her via text, and she found it extremely alarming given his pre-existing possessive and erratic behavior, as well as the fact that they were not in a relationship at the time. Taylor explained that her initials are now permanently tattooed on the body of a man who has been abusive towards her.
The tattoo was reportedly done on Valentine’s Day 2026 after Taylor had shared a promotional post for “The Bachelorette,” and he even showed it to cast members during shooting. Taylor continued that Dakota sent texts like, “I want you forever,” “I still love and want you,” and “give me a chance” to her cellphone after filming wrapped up.

According to her statement, she is used to the baseless claims about her and their relationship, as she denied ever being abusive. Taylor noted that during their relationship, some of Dakota’s actions left her fearing for her safety. After they split in early 2026, he continued with the same behavior that left her scared and uncomfortable.
The reality star declared that his request for a protective order against her was also filed in bad faith because he was attempting to ruin her career. Reports claimed that one of the chairs thrown by Taylor during her altercation with Dakota struck her daughter.

Taylor shared a detailed account of what truly went down on February 23 when Dakota allegedly slammed her head against the dashboard of his truck and struck her knee and elbow in the process, hence the bruises in the picture.
The Blast added that things did not stop there, as the reality TV star added that she was then sent out of her home and forced to leave her three kids indoors, who were deep asleep at the time. Taylor had faced charges of misdemeanor, assault, and criminal mischief for their 2023 encounter, where she threw objects at Dakota.
She eventually entered a plea for a third-degree felony count of aggravated assault in abeyance, which meant that the charge would be reduced to a misdemeanor in three years upon completion of some terms. Taylor was ordered to complete domestic violence and substance abuse treatment, while all other charges of domestic violence, child abuse, and criminal mischief were thrown out.

The hearing between herself and Dakota, which lasted for hours, ended with the judge making a provision that she spend a total of 8 hours with their son every week. She was allowed to split the 8 hours across several days of the week until April 30. Taylor lost custody of their son when her ex-boyfriend filed a temporary restraining order against her.
Before her appearance in court, Taylor had gotten vulnerable on social media about her struggles, revealing that she had to rely on faith to provide her with the strength to carry on. She also informed her fans about her intention to step away from the Mormon church, stressing that the concept of engaging in organized religion was no longer a part of her character.
