Experts have weighed in on how Tiger Woods‘ recent DUI incident could impact his financial future.
The legendary golfer was recently arrested following a car crash, and the fallout already appears to be affecting his business dealings.
Tiger Woods was notably left out of recent statements from his TMRW Sports collaboration with the NFL’s flag football league.
DUI Incident Expected To Worsen Tiger Woods’ Marketing ‘Decline’

Days after Tiger Woods was arrested and released on bond following a DUI incident in Florida, experts have begun outlining what it could mean for his long-term finances.
According to Page Six, the golfer, who currently holds deals with several high-profile brands, is already believed to be losing marketing appeal, and the recent DUI is expected to further worsen the situation.
“He was already on the decline from a marketing standpoint. It’s tough to say if you’re aligned with Tiger, you knew what you’re getting into,” said a celebrity expert, seemingly referencing Woods’ troublesome history of drug and alcohol abuse and other personal issues.
Per the source, it is unlikely anyone was surprised by Woods getting involved in the crash, and he has, over the years, not done enough to regain the marketing appeal he once had.
“He’s at the point where he’s lost marketing confidence from his major partners a while back,” added the insider, who also pointed to Woods 2024 split with Nike after nearly three decades of collaboration.
The Golfer Wasn’t Named In An Announcement About His Company’s Collaboration With The NFL

The same insider noted that Woods’ name was noticeably absent from a press release and an article on NFL.com about the NFL’s flag football league collaboration with his TMRW Sport.
“The interesting thing now is how TMRW [Tiger’s tech and sports arm with McElroy that created the TGL golf league] is looked at… They left his name out of the announcement with the NFL. So there is already a bit of distancing,” said the source.
Other insiders believe the incident could have a greater impact on Woods’ on-course activities, pointing to his surprising absence from the upcoming Masters as an early indication.
“This is bad,” said another sports insider about Woods, per Page Six. “He’s still a legend in the game. But he’s always been a mess. Hopefully, he’ll be back — but I think his golf days are done. That might be a stretch.”
Tiger Woods Has Adressed His DUI Incident

Woods has since addressed his DUI incident in a statement in which he also revealed he would be “stepping away” from golf for a “period of time”.
“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,” the golfer wrote on social media. “I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health.
According to the athlete, the break will help him prioritize his well-being and give full attention to his long-lasting recovery.
“I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally,” Woods added in the post. “I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones, and myself at this time.”
The Golfer Was Allowed To Leave The Country For His Treatment

Given that Woods was arrested and now has a case to answer, leaving the country to seek treatment was initially ruled out.
However, his lawyer, Douglas Duncan, later filed a motion requesting permission for him to travel abroad for treatment. The request was approved by Judge Darren Steele on April 1.
“Based upon the Defendant’s treating physician, the out-of-country treatment facility recommendation is based upon the Defendant’s complex clinical presentation and the urgent need for a level of care that cannot safely or effectively be done within the United States, as his privacy has been repeatedly compromised,” Duncan wrote in the filing.
“Ongoing medical scrutiny and public exposure create significant barriers to his care and would result in setbacks and an inability to fully engage in treatment,” the attorney further remarked.
When Is Tiger Woods’ Next Hearing?

It remains unclear how long the treatment will last, but Woods is expected to return to the U.S. for his next hearing on or before Friday, April 17, 2026.
He is facing DUI charges alongside property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test.
Since his shocking crash and arrest, several individuals close to the golfer have expressed concern about his well-being, including his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren.
Some of Woods’ PGA colleagues have also chimed in, advising him o step away for some time to get help.
