Tiger Woods continues to face backlash over his recent DUI incident, with Dave Portnoy joining the growing criticism.
The social media personality did not hold back when slamming the professional golfer, calling him out for endangering the lives of others with his reckless behavior.
Dave Portnoy is not the first to bash Tiger Woods over the incident, as a former professional golfer advised the latter to retire sooner rather than later.
Dave Portnoy Sends A Clear Message To Tiger Woods

Portnoy shared his thoughts on Woods’ situation on the March 30 episode of his “Wake Up Barstool” sports talk show. He began by asking, “What is wrong with Tiger Woods?” to which his co-hosts agreed that someone needed to get a handle on the golfer.
“I don’t care if he’s abusing pills. I don’t care if he’s got an abuse problem, an alcohol problem, a drug problem, a banging blonde problem. I don’t care about any of those problems, but you can have somebody drive you,” Portnoy stressed.
The Barstool Sports founder noted that Woods needed to have someone drive him wherever he went. “There is no excuse,” Portnoy continued, referencing the people he had seen protecting Woods. He added that anyone who drove impaired was not only a danger to themselves but also to the “innocent people” on the road.
The Social Media Personality Calls For The Golfer’s Imprisonment
Portnoy stressed that people shouldn’t make light of Woods’ DUI crash, given how badly the situation could have ended. “I have no sympathy for the guy. What does he do? I don’t know anybody who has ever rolled a car over,” he said before calling for Woods’ imprisonment.
“Put him behind bars. Put him in jail for a little bit. Make him wake up,” Portnoy declared. He argued that everyone had their own vices, including himself. However, his bad habits did not put anyone else in jeopardy. On that note, he reiterated that Woods needed to have a driver.
Portnoy noted that it wasn’t “hard” for Woods to employ a driver or have someone else take the wheel whenever he was impaired. He doubled down on the golfer needing to take accountability for his actions and make necessary changes before his bad driving habits cost someone their life.
Why The World Golf Hall Of Fame Inductee Doesn’t Have A Driver

Portnoy’s query about Woods’ lack of a driver was previously answered by a source. The Blast covered the story, reporting that the source claimed the golfer valued his privacy and did not want to have anyone watching him or invading his space.
The source claimed Woods “is fine to drive,” reiterating that he did not need a driver or want one. “He is not a social butterfly and prefers to hang around his home,” they explained, noting he mostly spent time with his kids or played golf and video games.
They added that Woods “despises public scrutiny” and did not want anyone to know what he was up to. Nonetheless, his decision to protect his privacy has caused Woods to have multiple crashes, with the most recent occurring on March 27.
Former Professional Golfer Advices The Athlete To Quit

Woods began sparking criticism after he flipped over his car while driving near his home in Jupiter Island. He was reportedly attempting to pass a truck when the incident happened. The Blast shared that Brandel Chamblee, a former professional golfer, weighed in on the situation.
Chamblee advised Woods to quit, stressing that he had already done enough to cement his name in the halls of golf legends. He argued that Woods could no longer compete as he did in his prime, noting his body had become “fractured and fragile.”
Chamblee implored Woods to consider retirement and get help to escape the toxic cycle of hurting himself and numbing the pain with medication. His words referenced reports of Woods being under the influence of drugs when the incident happened.
Tiger Woods Was Reportedly Found With Painkillers

According to a report from USA Today, Woods’ arrest affidavit was released on March 31, revealing the observations made by responding officers. They described the athlete’s eyes as “bloodshot and glassy,” with a sheriff’s deputy finding two small white pills in his pocket.
The pills were eventually identified as hydrocodone, a potent opioid used to treat severe pain. Although the affidavit implied Woods might have been under the influence of the medication when the accident happened, he shared a different narrative.
Woods allegedly told officers that he had been looking down at his cell phone and changing the radio station, which caused him to flip his car over on its side. He was charged with DUI and failure to submit to a DUI test, regaining his freedom after posting $1,150 bail later that night.
