Taylor-Joy Opens Up About Scary Motorcycle Crash Before ‘Furiosa’
Anya Taylor-Joy has had a whirlwind rise to the top, thanks in large part to “The Queen’s Gambit,” which became a breakout hit and earned her a Golden Globe, an Emmy nomination, and major fashion partnerships, including with Dior and Tiffany & Co.. But stepping into her role in “Furiosa” proved to be an entirely different kind of challenge.
The actress revealed the experience pushed her both mentally and physically, especially given her past with motorcycles. Taylor-Joy hadn’t ridden one since a scary accident at 19 while in Argentina. “My best friend’s older brother had just bought a Ducati,” she told ELLE. “I went off on the bike in shorts and heeled espadrilles. I did pretty well until I had to stop. Then I went into a tree.”
She even showed off a scar on her left knee from the incident, admitting just how serious it could have been. “I got really, really lucky,” she said. “I lost quite a bit of muscle.”

Anya Taylor-Joy is also giving a rare glimpse into her personal life, sharing just how much marriage has changed her.
Reflecting on life more than two years into her relationship, the actress described herself as deeply emotional and surprised by just how much more she’s been able to feel. “I’m an incredibly sensitive, hyper-feeling person. I did not realize that I could have more feelings, but I can,” she said.
Taylor-Joy Says Love Helped Her Become A Better Version Of Herself

Taylor-Joy didn’t hold back when it came to expressing her happiness, calling her relationship something she still can’t quite believe is real. “I feel so unbelievably lucky to be completely and utterly in love,” she said. “I have found my person. I cannot believe that we get to do life together.”
For the actress, love has also become a source of growth, describing her partner as a reflection that helps her evolve. “And in talking about experiences where you get to grow, what an unbelievable thing to live your life with a mirror,” she said. “And a mirror that causes you to become a better version of yourself.”
Anya Taylor-Joy Reflects On Childhood, Bullying, And Finding ‘Home’

In a separate interview, Anya Taylor-Joy opened up about her early years and how they shaped the person she is today. While attending private school in west London, the actress said she often felt like an outsider, especially after relocating from Buenos Aires at a young age.
Having grown up in Argentina until she was six, the transition to the U.K. proved difficult, particularly since she spoke only Spanish when she first arrived. “My first memory is that things were grey, and that wasn’t a colour I’d seen much of before,” she told Harper’s Bazaar, describing the stark contrast from the rural beauty she missed.
Though she admits the move was “rough” at the time, Taylor-Joy now sees it as a defining experience that helped her adapt to the ever-changing nature of her career. “I feel like as a kid, I got the best possible training for the nomadic nature of this job,” she said, noting that her recent five-month stay in Sydney marked the longest she’s lived in one place since she was 16.
These days, the actress has a simple definition of home. “Now, when people ask me where home is, I say, ‘Home is wherever I’ve slept for longer than two nights,'” she admitted.
