A shocking case tied to Barron Trump has come back into focus after an ex-MMA fighter was punished for assaulting one of his online friends.

Earlier this year, it emerged that the first son’s testimony played a key role in the trial of Matvei Rumiantsev, who attacked a woman while she was on a call with the president’s son.

Reports also revealed that Barron Trump was the one who alerted authorities in London, claiming that his friend was getting beaten up. His actions were praised by the judge during the verdict delivered on Friday.

Barron Trump is now seeing justice served after a wild incident involving an online female friend ended with a prison sentence for her attacker.

The case centered on a January 2025 FaceTime call during which Barron reportedly witnessed Russian ex-MMA fighter Matvei Rumiantsev assault his ex-girlfriend.

The disturbing moment later became key evidence in court after Rumiantsev’s arrest that same month.

Earlier reports indicated that Matvei Rumiantsev faced multiple charges, including rape and strangulation.

He was ultimately cleared of those more serious allegations but was found guilty of assault and perverting the course of justice for sending a message from prison, attempting to pressure the victim into recanting her claims.

For those offenses, the 23-year-old was sentenced to a total of four years in prison and could face possible deportation once his sentence is completed.

In addition to the sentence, Barron’s friend’s attacker was heavily reprimanded by the London judge, who described him as a “man given to jealousy” who was “totally unrepentant.”

As previously reported by The Blast, the woman who was assaulted referred to Barron as a “sweetheart,” which seemingly angered her jealous ex.

Prosecutors claimed Rumianstev “flew into a rage” when he saw a FaceTime call from the president’s son on the woman’s phone in the early hours of January 18 last year.

He allegedly sexually assaulted her after the FaceTime call and then sent her a text message: “You started calling him sweetheart, I felt so unwell.”

Rumianstev, for his part, claimed he only answered the call to de-escalate a drunken fight he was having with his then-girlfriend.

“I don’t know why I did that, maybe I thought she would realize that her behavior was unreasonable, [that] she wouldn’t behave like this in front of someone else, especially Barron Trump,” the jealous ex stated.

Barron placed a call to the authorities back in January after witnessing his friend, who remains anonymous, getting beaten up.

As the operator pressed him for details about how he knew the alleged victim, the president’s son chose to emphasize the urgency of the matter, saying, “I mean these details don’t matter, she’s getting beat up.”

He maintained the same stance even as the operator continued to seek clarification by asking how he knew the woman.

“I don’t think these details matter, she’s getting beat up but OK fine, also I met her on social media, I don’t think that matters,” Barron answered again.

At this point, the operator urged him to cooperate, saying, “Can you stop being rude and actually answer my questions. If you want to help the person, you’ll answer my questions clearly and precisely.”

The operator’s stern approach seemed to shake Barron as he calmly acknowledged that he didn’t know the attacker’s name and apologized for his earlier tone.

Barron Trump Also Sent The Authorities An Email Recounting The Incident

Seemingly to assist the authorities or at their request, Barron followed up the call by sending a statement via email to the police recounting what he had witnessed.

In the statement, he provided a description of his friend’s assailant and detailed how distressed the woman appeared during the brief FaceTime interaction.

“The individual who picked up the phone was a shirtless man with darkish hair, although I didn’t get a good look; this view lasted maybe one second, and I was racing with adrenaline,” Barron wrote in his message.

“The camera was then flipped to the victim getting hit while crying, stating something in Russian. The guy had hung up. This whole interaction had lasted 5 to 7 seconds,” he added.

Both the call and the email ultimately became key pieces of evidence in the case.

During the trial, Barron’s name came up repeatedly because of his connection to the victim.

On one occasion, the victim referred to the president’s son as her lifesaver, highlighting the critical role he played in alerting the authorities to her plight.

“He helped save my life,” she said. “That call was like a sign from God at that moment.”

Barron’s name was also mentioned during Rumiantsev’s sentencing, as the judge took a moment to thank him for his prompt actions.

The judge said the 20-year-old “properly and responsibly, despite being in the United States, made sure the emergency services here were called, and he told them what he had seen.”
