The reality star issued an explanation as to why it may have appeared she casually moved on from her brother’s controversial arrest, stemming from an alleged sexual misconduct incident in 2020.
Joseph Duggar’s arrest became the second sexually related scandal to occur in the family after his brother, Josh Duggar, was arrested in 2021 and sentenced to over 12 years in prison in 2022 for possession of child sexual abuse material.
Joseph Duggar’s Sister Will Not Let His Issues Stop Her Work Commitments
The former reality star’s older sister stated on her Instagram story that the recent happenings in the family would not come in the way of her work obligations. She added that she is currently uploading content and footage that have been scheduled to go up as part of her ongoing influencer brand deals.
Jinger reiterated that she must honor these contracts and fulfill her own end of the bargain as she thanked everyone for their kindness, understanding, and prayers while their family figures things out.
She subsequently shared a video from her paid partnership with the protein brand FlavCity with the hashtag #flavcitypartner. Joseph reportedly confessed to his sexual assault on a minor to the victim’s father and local detectives moments before his arrest.
Jinger Duggar’s Reaction To Her Brother’s Arrest
The podcaster has not stayed silent over the scandal, as The Blast shared that on March 25, she, alongside her husband Jeremy Vuolo, released a lengthy episode on their podcast titled “Addressing My Brother’s Arrest.” She revealed that it has been a very difficult week for her family after Joseph and his wife, Kendra Duggar, were arrested just days apart (although Kendra was released).
However, Joseph’s arrest brought back very familiar, yet unpleasant memories for Jinger about Josh’s episode of molesting minors. Jinger confessed that going through something similar does not mean it hurts less, as it left a shattering heartache in the minds of the family.
The podcaster continued that their family’s dark past makes the whole weight heavy on their minds, and their concern for the young victims abounds. In Jeremy’s words, “Where do we go from here? We are praying for the victim. We are praying for all of those affected.”
Josh Duggar’s Assault Victims Pledged Support To Joseph Duggar’s Victim
Joseph’s older brother was accused of molesting four girls, alongside possession of sexual abuse material, including his two siblings, Jill and Jessa Duggar. Following the former reality star’s arrest, Jill was the first to release a statement on their family’s blog, condemning Joseph’s actions while emphasizing that abuse was not a forgivable crime in their books.
Jill, alongside her husband, Derick Dillard, voiced their support for the victim, who claimed she was abused by Joseph during a family vacation to Florida when she was just 9 years old. The couple hoped that justice would serve its due course and leave no stone unturned.
Jessa and her husband, Ben Seewald, also shared a statement on their Instagram Story expressing their shock at Joseph’s actions and declared their support for the victim. Joseph reportedly abused the victim multiple times on that getaway by asking her to sit on his thighs and then molesting her through her underwear.
Joseph Reportedly Admitted His Intentions With His Victims Were Not Pure
Following an account from the alleged victim to a law enforcement agent in Arkansas, The Blast stated that investigators continued to gather crucial evidence in the case and contacted Joseph as the next person to give a confession.
Deputy Sheriff Darrell Norris reportedly asked the detective and the victim’s father to contact Joseph in an effort to obtain a confession. The former reality star shockingly admitted his actions during the call, confirming that he indeed violated the victim by touching her over her clothing, all with shady motives.
An arrest warrant was duly secured after the confession, and he was picked up in Arkansas. Joseph, alongside his wife, has now been charged with four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, as well as four counts of second-degree false imprisonment.
Joseph Duggar’s Arrest Puts A Pause In His Thriving Real Estate Business
The 31-year-old, before his arrest, had reportedly earned nearly $40 million in properties for his real estate business over the last five years, according to Homes.com. He even sold over $8 million in the last year and did twice the number over the last two years.
He also has an active realtor’s license with affiliations to the firm Good Neighbor Realty. One of the TV alum’s active listings reportedly includes over 33 acres of prime development property in Springdale, Arkansas. The property is currently listed at $15 million and advertised as a promising prime development location.
Joseph also once wrote about his love for real estate on their family’s website, where he raved about finishing his Real Estate Brokers License and enjoying his sojourn into the industry. “We have also been building houses to sell. I love getting to work outside with my hands, whether it’s working on a house or doing other hands-on projects,” he added in the post.
