The Actress Reveals She Is Always Happy When Her Brother Calls Her During Deployment
Sydney Sweeney is taking her brother’s deployment amid the Iran conflict in stride, choosing to focus on staying connected and showing her support during his time overseas.
Taking to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, the actress shared with fans a snap of herself on a video call with her brother, Trent, who has supported her throughout her career.
In the post, the newly minted Air Force Staff Sergeant appeared in uniform, and the two were seen smiling as they shared a warm moment despite being thousands of miles apart.
“Receiving calls from my bro always make me happy when he’s deployed,” Sweeney captioned the picture, before adding a heartfelt message for other soldiers stationed abroad.
“Thinking of all our boys and girls overseas and sending my love! Thank you for your service,” she further remarked.
Sydney Sweeney Posted About Her Brother When He Left For Military Training

Sweeney’s post comes years after she first revealed that her brother was set to join the military.
At the time, she shared the news on the same social media platform, alongside a series of childhood photos of the two.
In one image, they were seen eating cereal together at a small table, while in another, a cheerful Trent held onto a toy truck with Sweeney sitting in it.
“My little bro leaves for basic training tomorrow. wishing you luck bud, when the going gets tough just remember your sister is tougher than you,” the actress captioned the April 2020 post.
Trent ultimately completed his training in August 2020 and began serving in the United States Air Force. In the same month in 2025, he revealed that he had been promoted to Staff Sergeant.
Sydney Sweeney Has Been Under Heavy Scrutiny Over Her Party Affiliation

Despite showing support for her brother and U.S. troops, Sweeney has yet to reveal her political stance or weigh in on the ongoing tensions between the U.S. and Iran.
As a public figure, her views have been the subject of speculation, with some even attempting to label her politically as MAGA. The actress was also revealed to be registered as a Republican after being caught in the center of controversy due to her American Eagle ad campaign.
However, Sweeney has largely avoided discussing her affiliations, choosing instead to keep the focus on her work and career.
“I’ve never been here to talk about politics. I’ve always been here to make art, so this is just not a conversation I want to be at the forefront of,” the “House Maid” star said during an interview with Cosmopolitan in January.
She added, “People want to take it even further and use me as their own pawn. But it’s somebody else assigning something to me, and I can’t control that.”
Sydney Sweeney Says She’s Someone Who ‘Leads With Kindness’

Last December, Sweeney addressed the American Eagle jean controversy in an interview with People Magazine.
The campaign, titled “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans,” sparked tense debate over the wordplay between “jeans” and “genes,” with some critics claiming it implied racial undertones or genetic superiority.
This led to Sweeney facing backlash, which worsened due to her refusal to address the situation.
During her chat with the publication, the “Christy” star finally explained that she was surprised by the backlash, emphasizing her love for the brand and her intent behind the campaign.
“Many have assigned motives and labels to me that just aren’t true,” she said, noting that everything said about her regarding the ad was untrue.
The actress then described herself as a person who “leads with kindness.”
“Anyone who knows me knows that I’m always trying to bring people together. I’m against hate and divisiveness,” she added, explaining that her silence may have unintentionally widened the divide.
U.S. War With Iran Sparks The Possible Deployment Of More Soldiers

While it remains unclear where Sweeney’s brother has been deployed, more U.S. troops are expected to be sent to the Middle East as tensions with Iran continue.
The United States already has around 50,000 soldiers stationed at bases across the region, with an additional 3,000 to 4,000 troops reportedly set to be deployed to strengthen its presence.
Although none of these forces are directly stationed in Iran, their positioning is seen as a way to reinforce the U.S. stance ahead of any potential future operations.
For now, an end to the conflict remains uncertain, though Donald Trump has reportedly claimed that discussions are taking place between his office and Iranian officials. This has been denied by officials of Iran.
“They want to make a deal so badly, but they’re afraid to say it, because they figure they’ll be killed by their own people,” Trump said at an event earlier in the week. “They’re also afraid they’ll be killed by us.”
