There are white flags in Shannen Doherty and her ex Kurt Iswarienko‘s camps right now!
The American actress and her ex’s estate have resolved their differences nearly two years after she passed away and worked out a divorce settlement with her former partner.
Shannen Doherty passed away on July 13, 2024, a day after she signed an agreement to finalize the end of her marriage to Kurt Iswarienko, which lasted for 12 years until their separation in 2023.
Shannen Doherty’s Estate And Kurt Iswarienko Are Reportedly On The Same Page

The end came for both parties fighting over money and properties. The agreement between Shannen and Kurt before her death noted that he would get the Texas property on the condition that he make a huge payment to Shannen’s estate.
The lump sum amount is required to be equal to one-half of the equity value of a Texas home. Kurt was also asked to return a coffee table and couch, which Shannen was awarded in the divorce. Shannen’s team will also get a returned guitar, music equipment, and a restored Garrard stereo player from Kurt’s people as stipulated in the divorce agreement.
That is not all, the actress’s ex was also ordered to return an inventory for photographic works he created and sold, as required in the deal. As stated by TMZ, Shannen was awarded her residuals, a $9 million mansion, and her SAG producer pension plan in an earlier divorce deal.
The Late Actress’s Family Slammed Her Ex For Defaulting On The Divorce Agreement

Last November, The Blast noted that Chris Cortazzo, the trustee of the Shannen Doherty Family Trust, criticized her ex-husband for failing to fulfill the terms of their divorce settlement. Cortazzo filed the papers to become the Successor in Interest to Decedent, which meant he needed his application to be approved to enforce the judgment between Shannen and Kurt.
Besides claims that Kurt failed to put up the Texas home for sale, Cortazzo also allegedly owed his ex-wife’s estate money from a deal he made to buy out Shannen’s interest in her Mooney-20 Airplane for $100,000 after an airplane hangar was sold. According to Cortazzo, the hanger was sold in August 2024, one year after Shannen died, and Kurt unilaterally failed to remit $50,274 of his payment to the actress’s estate.
He added that it has now been 15 months since Kurt’s payment was due. Also, Iswarienko was expected to submit a list of works he created throughout his marital relationship with Shannen, alongside copies of the work he had published when they were married, by September 1, 2024. Unfortunately, none of these petitions has been granted during the last 14 months.
Shannen Doherty Regained Her Single Status Following Her Death

The media personality reportedly died as a legally married wife to Kurt and ought to have remained married to him after her death as stipulated by the law. As shared by The Blast, in California and in most states, the death of a person involved in a divorce process deprives the family law court of jurisdiction over the matter.
The case is subsequently transferred to the probate court, where probate judges do not complete a divorce. For Shannen, she would have died a lawful wife to Kurt, but she was restored to her single status upon her death.
The judge of the family law who handled her case had already signed the divorce documents, hence the divorce was granted posthumously. Her loved ones had described Shannen’s death as a crushing blow, but the memories she left behind have been consoling.
Kurt Iswarienko Insists The Divorce Agreement Should Have Been Terminated

Kurt and Shannen’s agreement was submitted to the court two days after she died, but the actress’s ex claimed that the court should have terminated the agreement and case after her passing on July 13, 2025.
As noted by The Blast, Kurt insisted that the signed divorce agreement should have never been filed, adding that the authority also has no authority to enforce details of the agreement. Kurt then added that the divorce agreement he had signed with Shannen was presented in the wrong court.
Last year, the actress had slammed her ex with claims of him deliberately dragging out the divorce to help him avoid paying the dues ordered by the law in the instance of them separating. The photographer’s attorney, Katherine Heersema, continued that his client had actually approached Shannen for an amicable divorce and settlement as far back as October 2023.
Shannen Doherty Considered Making Italy Her Home

Shannen’s “Charmed” co-stars, Holly Marie Combs, Brian Krause, and Drew Fuller, revealed during a tribute episode on a podcast that her death was very shocking. Despite battling cancer, her friends claimed she did not think she was leaving this world anytime soon.
The squad noted that Fuller was in Italy when he got updates about Shannen’s poor health and had rushed to get to her at the last minute. Combs revealed that Shannen had always carried deep admiration for Italy and was strongly considering moving to the country. “She was going to outlive us all, and there were many times I firmly believed that. So, when things did take a turn, and it happened very quickly, it was very shocking,” Combs added.
Fuller confessed that he felt blindsided by Shannen’s death because there was never a moment in her presence where she ever gave the impression of being ill. Her enthusiasm for life was one of the highlights of the conversation, and she was surprisingly shocked by the state of her health because she wanted to do so much with her body, but that was impossible.
