Days have passed, but the hurt of loss still lingers on in the hearts of Gayheart and her daughters, Billie and Georgia. The actor’s widow uploaded a montage of pictures that captured the beautiful moments they spent together as lovers and as a family while he was still Earthside.

Many parts of the video showed Dane and his daughters bonding. Scenes of them on his shoulders, swimming together, playing tennis, at restaurants, and many more. There were also beautiful moments of the whole family doing outdoor activities, wearing wide smiles on their faces.

Other photos showed the couple at events, on red carpets, dressed up for Halloween, and celebrating birthdays. Amid the depicted sweet moments, the actress included snaps of Dane and some of his friends, including a picture of the “Grey’s Anatomy” star and James Van Der Beek, who also passed away this year.

The seven-minute Instagram clip had The National’s “Fake Empire” and “Light Years” playing in the background as the clips rolled. Some of the photos showed Dane in his younger days, in maternity and newborn shots with Gayheart and his daughters, while a few showed him in his wheelchair at the later part of his life.

Gayheart’s Tribute Brought Tears To Many Eyes

The video was simply captioned, “There are no words. All our love forever — your girls [heart emojis]” and so far it has gotten almost 100 thousand reactions. Gayheart and Dane were estranged for about seven years before he announced his amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) diagnosis, which ultimately took his life. The media personality filed for divorce in the Los Angeles County Superior Court in 2018.

In her filing, she requested for spousal support from the TV star and sought joint custody for their kids. The divorce filing sat on the shelves for seven years as neither party did anything to hasten the dissolution of their marriage. In January 2025, a judge issued a “final notice” to the former couple, warning that it could be dismissed entirely if they did not move the case forward.

A hearing date was set for march 20, and there was a hanging fine if they did not appear for the hearing. The Blast shares that, surprisingly, Dane and his estranged wife signed to have the case dismissed on March 6, days before their final notice from the court. The following month, Dane announced that he had been diagnosed with the fatal disease.

Priya Jain, who was also linked to Dane in 2024 after they were spotted together on multiple occasions, was reportedly torn by the news of his demise.

Almost a month after the late entertainer’s passing, Gayheart and her girls made their first public appearance. They walked the red carpet at “The Drama” premiere in Los Angeles on Tuesday. The trio dressed in beautiful outfits walked hand in hand into the event, trying so hard to wear smiles for the cameras.

It appears they attended the event to show support for Zendaya, who was their father’s co-star on the hit series “Euphoria.” Gayheart was clad in a beautiful striped gown with a pair of black lace heels, while Georgia rocked a cute pink outfit with a pair of clear heels. Billie, on the other hand, stood tall, dressed in a white cropped top with a matching skirt and lavender heels.

The Blast reports that their presence at this event comes just days after the 2026 Oscars, which they were absent from. Their absence did not deter them from following the event, as Gayheart expressed disappointment when Dane was not recognised in the ‘In Memoriam’ segment during the main broadcast.

RIP Eric Dane!
