Pete Davidson has gotten candid about the part of fatherhood that has uncovered something in him.
This conversation comes months after the comedian welcomed his daughter with girlfriend Elsie Hewitt, ushering them into the world of parenting.
Since the birth of their child, Hewitt has shared the highs and lows of the journey as the new parents settle into their roles, even hinting at their desire to welcome more children.
Pete Davidson Says Fatherhood Makes Him More ‘Primal’

A new side of Davidson is emerging as he opened up to People Magazine about how fatherhood is shaping his recent behavior, referring to the feeling as “primal” and protective toward his daughter.
“It’s funny. It’s like I didn’t understand this. You’re just ready to fight anyone,” he explains. “It’s really funny.”
As he continued explaining how overprotective he has become, he described how he now remains on high alert whenever someone approaches, while constantly reminding himself to relax because no one is actually trying to harm his child.
He even emphasized that he might beat the hell out of a “paparazzi guy” if one suddenly popped out, as he noted how strange that instinct feels to him, saying, “So that’s a weird gear because I’m not a fighter guy.”
The comedian gushed that aside from that instinctive feeling, everything else about the experience has simply been cute.
Pete Davidson Gushes About His Girlfriend Being A Fantastic Mom
While Davidson is embracing fatherhood, he is not carrying the responsibility alone. The comedian has openly praised the role his girlfriend, Hewitt, plays in raising their daughter, Scottie Rose.
“And what’s also cool is you get to watch someone come into this other role, and it’s so nice to see. It’s very rewarding to see the person you chose to have a baby with actually crush it so naturally,” he gushed while reflecting on her role, adding that their daughter is incredibly lucky to have such a parent.
For the couple, the path into parenthood appears filled with joy as the comedian simply noted, “And so Scottie’s very lucky in that way. So we’re having a blast. It’s really cute, and it’s fun to dress up a little baby.”
The Duo Announces The Birth Of Their Daughter
Before sharing these sweet reflections, the couple had already introduced their growing family to fans through social media, offering a rare and intimate glimpse into their lives.
As previously reported by The Blast, the 29-year-old Hewitt confirmed the arrival of their daughter in an Instagram post. One photo showed the actor holding his swaddled daughter near a window, while another captured a tender moment of him leaning in to kiss Hewitt as she cradled their baby.
She revealed that the baby girl, named Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson, was born on December 12, 2025.
Hewitt followed the announcement with a deeply personal note, writing, “My best work yet, I am absolutely overflowing with love and gratitude and disbelief. – Elsie.” She also honored Davidson in the post, adding, “Wu Tang Forever. – Pete.”
Elsie Hewitt Gets Emotional About Postpartum Journey
While the journey of parenting appears to be unfolding beautifully for the couple, the model/influencer later shared honestly some of the challenges she faced after welcoming her daughter.
Per The Blast, the media personality revealed the “mini war” she had with her mind and body over breastfeeding.
“I was aware, even before pregnancy, of the quiet shame attached to formula feeding,” Hewitt wrote. She explained that breastfeeding was often presented as “the gold standard” for new mothers, while formula feeding was framed as an alternative if anything goes wrong.
Hewitt admitted that “it took some grappling with that shame and some exploring of the moral hierarchy around breastfeeding” before she could determine formula feeding as being best for both herself and her child.
She explained that her postpartum decision stemmed from an unplanned pregnancy that arrived many years after she had been “feeling disconnected” from her body, as well as the physical pain she endured during pregnancy.
According to her, formula feeding allowed both her and Davidson to care for their daughter while also supporting her recovery after childbirth.
Pete Davidson And Elsie Hewitt Open Up About Desire To Have More Children

Despite the physical and emotional weight of postpartum recovery, Davidson and Hewitt have already spoken openly about their hopes of expanding their family.
“We want her {Scottie} to have a friend, for sure,” Davidson said, per The Blast, explaining that they love the idea of their daughter eventually becoming a big sister.
Hewitt also admitted that the experience of parenthood has already made her consider having another child.
“The idea of making another one and making a sibling is something I’ve already been like, ‘I want to do it again.’ They’re so tiny when they come out, and they grow so fast. It’s crazy.” Hewitt said, emphasizing that although the process of giving birth can be intense, the journey of raising a child is equally incredible.
