Valerie Bertinelli smells something fishy in Congress!
The media personality is not impressed with Congress’s body language regarding the jarring revelations in the Epstein files and the general lack of accountability.
Valerie Bertinelli’s strong message to Congress comes on the heels of her recent disclosure that she was abused at the age of 11, and after turning 65, it finally feels like she is starting to heal from the unpleasant experience.
Valerie Bertinelli Urges Americans To Dump Politicians Fiddling Their Hands About The Epstein Files

The author left behind some soundbites during a promo run for her memoir “Getting Naked” on “The View,” where she slammed the U.S. Congress for their attitude towards protecting pedophiles.
She expressed her anger and disappointment towards the lawmakers who fail to hold the criminals accountable for their actions and approach the entire situation so idly. Bertinelli also addressed the attitude towards sexual abuse survivors in America, which goes beyond the stories in the Epstein files.
The media personality, who is a survivor of sexual assault herself, did not tame her tongue when condemning their unforgivable actions. As noted by TMZ, Bertinelli charged viewers and Americans to vote out politicians who are not angry, brave enough to put their foot down and go after the powerful criminals mentioned in the files.
Senators Called For The Probing Of The Department Of Justice Over The Epstein Files

On March 11, CNBC reported that a bipartisan group of senators urged the Government Accountability Office to investigate the Department of Justice and how it is handling files related to the felon. The letters were signed by Senator Dick Durbin, Ben Ray Luján, Jeff Merkley, and Lisa Murkowski.
They claimed that the Department of Justice did not comply with a law that aimed to trigger the release of the Epstein files while protecting victims. The content of the files includes e-mail addresses and nude pictures in which the names and faces of publicly identified and non-public victims could potentially be identified.
The senators continued that when it came to releasing information about influential figures alleged to be coconspirators or material witnesses, the DOJ redacted those records. The Department of Justice has repeatedly been slammed for withholding certain equally important parts of the Epstein files from the public, a violation of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which the president signed last November.
‘The View’ Joy Behar Clarified Her Name’s Presence In The Epstein Files

The talk show’s co-host was shocked at her name being mentioned in the controversial files, especially since she was so vocal in support of Epstein’s victims. As shared by Entertainment Weekly, Behar stressed on the show that the files have many interesting names that have nothing to do with the crimes listed in them.
While neither she nor Whoopi Goldberg was accused of any wrongdoing in the files, she explained that they may have appeared on the list because they were present at a party, wedding, or any event someone else had attended. In her words:
“I was at Donald Trump’s wedding to Marla Maples. Maybe Epstein was there, too? Who knows! That means that I’m not guilty, obviously, but these other ones, how are you going to decide who’s guilty and who’s not? It’s very tricky.”
Goldberg explained her involvement in the files, noting that it was because someone was looking for a plane, and the usual pattern was to go around and ask if anyone had a plane. The actress continued that she had no idea the plane she was supposed to be on was no longer available, nor did she get on the plane.
Bertinelli Gave A Backdrop To The Inspiration Behind Her Memoir

On March 10, The Blast stated that the star confessed to PEOPLE that she had no plan to reveal the most vulnerable part of her life in the memoir. She explained that the initial plan for the memoir was for it to be a book about teaching people how to love themselves, but she had no idea it would go this far.
Bertinelli continued that the story she had suppressed for nearly six decades fervently demanded space, and she felt a responsibility to share it with the public. The actress added that it no longer seems scary to tell the story because she is now healing from it, and she no longer feels tongue-tied about admitting that the chapter controls her.
Bertinelli described the project as an act of extreme honesty, and getting undone physically and emotionally, including uncovering parts of herself she considered shameful, and realizing that they are part of her regardless.
Valerie Bertinelli Opened Up About Going Through The Cycles Of Finding Healing

The media personality revealed the story behind introducing the very chapter of her abuse in the memoir to the world, stating that it took her a decade to come forward with that truth.
She recalled the very first time she spoke with a therapist, thinking she would feel better about her past; instead, it got worse before it got better. Bertinelli stressed that she found solace in eating a little more and drinking a little more, but it got to a point where she chose to deal with it head-on.
The actress confessed that she had a serious anxiety attack at the end of 2024 that crushed her, and that was when she knew the end of the line had come for running away from her demons. Bertinelli subsequently found love and comfort in the arms of her community, her child, and her friends, and is now ready to help others find strength through her story.
