Christie Brinkley Credits Trump For 'Doing A Good Job Of Destroying The Country'

There is no love lost between Christie Brinkley and President Donald Trump, and she is not even subtle about it.

After the intentions of Trump's administration on environmental regulations relating to coal and mercury emissions made headlines, the author wasted no time in raising her voice, assigning the blame, and highlighting the negative impacts to ensue.

One thing Christie Brinkley will not do is watch in silence. She previously expressed her concerns about the issues with the environment when Donald Trump won the presidential elections in 2024.

Brinkley seems distraught about the Trump administration's decision to ease pollution standards for limits on mercury from coal plants, and she has shared a piece of her mind. The author took to social media, writing that this environmental update is set to destroy lives.

She noted the pressing side effects that will occur, affecting the fragile population, on her Instagram Stories. "Mercury causes deformities in babies and developmental disorders of the brain!" she penned over a screenshot of the headline from Interval News.

In another slide, still on her stories update, she shared a quote which read "'I CAN DO ANYTHING I WANT TO DO TO THEM. I'M ALLOWED TO DESTROY THE COUNTRY.' -Donald Trump 2/20/26." To this, she added a footnote praising him for keeping up to the words in the quote.

"And I must say he is doing a good job of destroying the country," the model shared after stating that the regulations not only put babies at risk, but they target adults too, affecting their nervous systems and ultimately causing organ damage. Brinkley claims Trump's decision is at the expense of the citizens and stems from greed. 

While the Trump administration views rolling back the clean air regulations from an economic standpoint, public health groups and environmental agencies warn that the health of the masses will bear the brunt.

The announcement was made on Friday, February 20, 2026, stating that it will roll back clean air regulations limiting mercury and hazardous toxins from power plants. They shared that it will boost baseload energy.

President Donald Trump's Environmental Protection Agency explained that easing the pollution standards would alleviate costs for utilities that run older coal plants.

The effectiveness of this move shines at a time when demand for power is massively increasing, with the expansion of data centers used for artificial intelligence.

Reuters reports that environmental groups have stated that allowing mercury, which is a neurotoxin capable of impairing brain development in babies, to be freely emitted into the air will result in higher health-related costs.

Brinkley particularly noted earlier that the administration has set out to undo the environmental protection regulations put in place by Joe Biden's administration. The Swimsuit model added that the effects on the climate and health will surely take a devastating turn as a result.

The Daily Mail shared that Brinkley wrote on social media, telling her followers that natural disasters and diseases will all intensify if the state of the planet is not placed at the top of a Scale of preference over profits for a handful of greedy corporations.

She acknowledged that while the effects of climate change are already being felt, working together in prioritizing the environment will go a long way to slow down or ultimately stop the blistering negative effects.

Brinkley called for support from her online community, stating that nature does not have respect for race or skin color, as no one will survive without a healthy biodiverse environment.

The actress also admitted that the changes will not only affect the current population but also future generations as well. "For the sake and well-being of our children, action is mandated," her words echoed.

Big stars in the music industry like Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish endorsed Trump's opponent, Kamala Harris, during the 2024 presidential elections. After it was announced that Trump won, Eilish called his victory a "war on women," seemingly referring to his take on female reproductive rights.

Queen of Pop, Madonna, also expressed her views on the outcome of the election, uploading a photo on Instagram showing a cake with the words "F-ck Trump," adding that she stuffed her face with it after the results were announced.

Madonna also shared that she was "trying to get her head around why a convicted felon, rapist, and bigot was chosen to lead the country because he's good for the economy?"
