Kayla Nicole appears to be opening up about her past high-profile relationship with Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce.

During a TikTok speed-dating event, Nicole, who's gone viral before over past comments about her years-long fling with Kelce, discussed why her previous relationship didn't work.

Although Kayla Nicole refrained from mentioning Kelce by name, one telling detail appeared to confirm he was the subject of her remarks.

Nicole appeared on Ace Greene's recent TikTok speed dating event, during which the "Love Island USA" alum asked Nicole how long she's been single.

Nicole revealed she has been single for three years, a timeline that aligns with her May 2022 split from the NFL star.

Greene then asked Nicole why her previous relationship didn't work out, to which she replied, "Umm, who knows?"

She added, "Could be compatibility issues. Right person, wrong time."

While she kept further details private, Nicole confirmed she has established a strict set of requirements for future partners.

"My new list of requirements is having a job, that's on the top of the list," she said. "Employed."

Social media users quickly erupted over the post, with some labeling the influencer "desperate" while others alleged she was throwing shade at Kelce’s fiancée, Taylor Swift.

Nicole later addressed the controversy during a podcast appearance, dismissing critics who "try to project their own narratives" onto others.

"I think it's very important to say this, in this moment, I am not in the business of tearing women down," she said.

Elaborating, Nicole said her costume was born of her genuine love and appreciation for Braxton, revealing that she's "been listening to [her song] since it came out."

A third disturbing post showed Nicole making derogatory remarks regarding religion, claiming that "buddah [sic] isn't real."

Nicole acknowledged the posts in a lengthy Instagram Stories statement, labeling her previous words as "ignorant, hurtful, and completely wrong."

"I want to take a moment to sincerely apologize for the hurtful tweets I posted so many years ago," she wrote. "Seeing them resurface last week has been incredibly difficult, and reading them now, I’m ashamed that I ever thought or spoke that way. They were ignorant, hurtful and completely wrong."

"The woman I am today would never use those words or express those kinds of views," Nicole added. "Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand how cruel and harmful online hate can be, and I would never want to add to that world of pain in any form."

Nicole shared that she's since deleted her X account, adding, "I refuse to keep that energy alive or contribute to a cycle of hate."

Nicole emphasized that she accepts "full responsibility" for any pain or harm her past actions may have caused.

"My heart, values, and perspective are completely rooted in empathy, love, and respect for others. I can't change the past, but I will continue showing through my actions who I've become and what I stand for today," she wrote.
