Mandy Rose Gets Real About The Financial Reality Of WWE

On her "Power Alphas Podcast," Rose has been candid about what life as a WWE Superstar truly entails, particularly when it comes to finances and sacrifice. "I think people think WWE money in general is crazy, right?" she said. "I've talked to a lot of people in the past, like, 'You've gotta be doing really well at WWE,' questioning maybe what I do now or whatever it may be. Yeah, I was doing well, and I thought I was making great money."

She explained that while the exposure and fan loyalty were invaluable, the financial reality wasn't always as glamorous as people assume. "But when you actually break it down, as independent contractors, you're paying for your own hotels, you're paying for your own cars, paying for your own gas, paying for your own food, you're paying for your own clothes that you need to be wearing."

She added, "Not only that, we have to look a certain part… spend a lot of money on ring gear, all those things."

Rose Calls Out The Downsides Of WWE's 1099 Status

Rose also highlighted the challenges of being classified as a 1099 contractor.

She said, "There's a lot of things that go into play when you are a WWE superstar, and how much money you have to put out there, and as a 1099, don't get really any benefits for the long run. After it's all said and done and Uncle Sam comes, and it's time to pay for your taxes…"

Mandy Rose Says WWE Exit Became A Turning Point

Rose also noted that nothing in WWE is guaranteed and that your time there can end without warning. After the bombshell was dropped, she explained that WWE had long positioned her as a sex symbol, and she ultimately recognized she could monetize that image on her own terms, with full control over the branding and revenue, and that's exactly what she did.

"My life changed," Rose added. "I went from grinding 300-plus days out of the year, falling on my back, to basically 10-xing my money in one year. I wake up when I want, do what I want, and I don't have to take bumps or be on the road for 300-plus days."

She then revealed, "I basically make ten times the amount of money that I made in WWE in one year. That's crazy."
