Sherri Shepherd Is Not Ready To End Her Talk Show Despite Recent Cancellation

During the Monday, February 9, episode of "Sherri," Shepherd took time out to directly address her audience and speak on the show's cancellation publicly for the first time.
"I want to be clear: I'm not ready to throw in the towel on this show just yet. I'm not. I'm not," Shepherd stated, per PEOPLE. "We're gonna be airing episodes all through the fall.
"And we're going to continue to fight to keep this show alive in some way, shape or form," she continued. "If anybody knows me, they know I'm a fighter. I don't know exactly what it's going to look like, but I promise, I am going to continue to spread joy."
Shepherd Also Gave Thanks To Fans Who Have Supported Her Throughout The Show's Duration

"From the audience, to everybody on social media, to people who stop me in the store," the comedian began her thanks. "From the emails, the texts, the messages, I feel every bit of the love that you've been sending to me. And thank you so much."
"I want to thank you for laughing and crying with us…" When I first started, this show was built on one thing, and what I wanted it built on was joy," Shepherd said. "The intention of this show, always, was my prayer for you to leave happier than when you've came…It has been my dream to have a talk show, and I'm so grateful I had the chance to do it for four seasons."
"And I just want to thank you, because my staff and my crew, that is what we're all about," the former co-host of "The View" added. "Making sure that from the moment you walk in and turn me on, you are having a good time. Because like your favorite auntie, I'm here to make you laugh, get in your business, and stay longer than you plan."
The Cancellation Of 'Sherri' Was Announced Earlier This Month

On Tuesday, February 3, per Variety, it was confirmed that "Sherri" had been cancelled after four seasons and production would officially wrap up in the fall. Debmar-Mercury, which distributes the show through producer Lionsgate, issued a statement confirming the news.
"This decision is driven by the evolving daytime television landscape and does not reflect on the strength of the show, its production – which has found strong creative momentum this season – or the incredibly talented Sherri Shepherd," Debmar-Mercury co-presidents Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus via joint statement.
"We believe in this show and in Sherri and intend to explore alternatives for it on other platforms," the statement continued.
"Sherri" premiered in fall 2022, initially taking over the time slot of the long-running "Wendy Williams Show."
Shepherd Initially Thanked Fans For The Positive Messages After The Cancellation News Broke

The day after "Sherri" was cancelled, Shepherd took to Instagram on February 4 and shared a collection of posts from fans expressing their appreciation for the show and sadness at its cancellation.
"Wow! I am completely overwhelmed by the outpouring of love for me and The @sherrishowtv," Shepherd wrote in the post's caption. "You might've noticed that yesterday and today I was struggling because I wasn't feeling up to speed."
The Cancellation Of Sherri Shepherd's Show Follows The End Of Kelly Clarkson's

Merely a day before "Sherri's" cancellation, Clarkson confirmed that she was stepping away from "The Kelly Clarkson Show" after seven seasons via a statement.
"There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons. I am forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for, all the talent and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show, and to NBC," Clarkson's statement read in part.
"Because of all of that, this was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting 'The Kelly Clarkson Show.' Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives," she continued.
The "American Idol" winner closed her statement by thanking her fans: "I want to thank y'all so much for allowing our show to be a part of your lives, and for believing in us and hanging with us for seven incredible years."
