As anti-ICE protests continue around the country, many sports fans have been on edge and wondering if U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will be present at this year’s Super Bowl.
The NFL has officially cleared up the ongoing rumors and speculation that ICE will be on hand at the annual sporting event, which will feature Latin artist and Grammy winner Bad Bunny as the halftime show performer.
NFL Clears Up Rumors That ICE Will Be At Super Bowl

During a February 3 press conference regarding football’s biggest night, the NFL formally addressed the increasing concern that ICE will be at Super Bowl 60.
NFL's chief security officer, Cathy Lanier, made it very clear that those attending the sporting event will not have to worry about the organization’s presence.
"There is not ICE deployed with us at this Super Bowl and I don't believe there has been in the last several, but most of the other departments from the Coast Guard to ... many other agencies are here," Lanier said, according to USA Today.
Lanier was then asked if ICE, despite no plans to be there, could still show up to the Super Bowl unannounced, to which she explained that the NFL is confident in its existing partnership with Homeland Security and that security planning for the event started 18 months ago.
Multiple Anti-ICE Protests Are Set Nationwide Leading Up To The Super Bowl

The social unrest across the country due to the ongoing extreme (and deadly) measures taken by ICE has inspired various protests nationwide, and that will continue with a slew of anti-ICE protests planned during Super Bowl weekend.
Per the New York Times, on Saturday, February 7, the Twin Cities Coalition for Justice and the Minnesota Immigration Rights Action Committee, will hold an anti-ICE protest and rally in Minneapolis.
A much larger anti-ICE protest, dubbed the “ICE Out of Everywhere National Day of Action,” is also set for February 7 and spearheaded by the national organization 50501.
According to the outlet, a variety of “demonstrations, protests and vigils are scheduled in all 50 states and Washington D.C., with some taking place outside detention centers, ICE field offices, the facilities of airlines that work with the agency and congressional offices.”
Don Lemon Gave His First Interview After Being Arrested For Covering An Anti-ICE Protest

In his first official interview following his January 30 arrest and release 24 hours later, Don Lemon was a guest on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” where he recounted his experience, per CNN.
Lemon opened the discussion by making it clear that he was in Minnesota to cover the anti-ICE protests, not to be part of them. “There is a difference between a protester and a journalist,” he told Kimmel.
The journalist also revealed that in anticipating his arrest, his attorney offered for Lemon to turn himself in, but they never received a response.
“The attorney reached out to (prosecutors) and said basically, ‘I understand that you have an interest because your folks have been talking about it. So, if you are serious about this, then let’s do it the right way,” Lemon recalled.
“I think my attorney tried to contact them once, maybe twice –– that I could just go in and it would have to be just the folks who were just working there that day. They wouldn’t have to have all these people following me around,” he continued.
However, Lemon said that he believes the offer to turn himself in was purposely ignored because he was meant to be embarrassed.
“They want to embarrass you, they want to intimidate you, they want to instill fear,” Lemon said while on the show.
Bad Bunny Slammed ICE During Grammys Speech

As he accepted his 2026 Grammy for Album of the Year, Bad Bunny took the time during his special moment to call out ICE.
“Before I say thanks to God, I’m gonna say: ICE out,” the artist said, per The Hill. “We’re not savages. We’re not animals. We’re not aliens. We are humans and we are Americans.”
“I was thinking sometimes we get contaminados,” Bad Bunny continued. “The hate [gets] more powerful with more hate. The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love. So please, we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love.”
Bad Bunny will take the stage at the Super Bowl 60 halftime show, and rumors are swirling that certain artists could join him as special guests, such as fellow Grammy winner Cardi B.
Super Bowl 60 Will See The Patriots And The Seahawks Face Off

The New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks will play in this year’s Super Bowl, which will be held in Santa Clara, California, at Levi’s Stadium.
Patriots star Stefon Diggs played coy when asked if girlfriend Cardi B will indeed perform at the big game. “I don’t know, we can call and ask her,” Diggs said, according to PEOPLE.
He also teased the possibility of a marriage proposal if his team earns the Super Bowl 60 title. “It’s on the agenda, maybe, right? Right?” Diggs laughed before adding, “I gotta get mine first."
