Since the U.S. Department of Justice began releasing files connected to Jeffrey Epstein, Sarah Ferguson’s troubles have only intensified.
The latest disclosures have shed new light on the depth of the former Duchess of York's relationship with the disgraced financier, revealing messages in which Ferguson praised Epstein and even compared him to a sibling.
Ferguson’s fallout because of her ties with Epstein has been swift and continuous. She was first dropped from her role at a children's hospice, followed by the reported cancellation of her forthcoming book. Now, her charity residence has also shut its doors.
Sarah Ferguson’s Charity House Shuts Down Amid Renewed Attention On Her Ties With Epstein

A spokesperson for Ferguson’s charity organization, Sarah’s Trust, which was founded in 2020, has announced its closure for the foreseeable future.
“Our chair, Sarah Ferguson, and the board of trustees have agreed that, with regret, the charity will shortly close for the foreseeable future,” the rep said in a February 3 statement, per PEOPLE Magazine. “This has been under discussion and in train for some months.”
The spokeswoman noted that they were proud of their achievements, which included partnering with over 60 charities in 20+ countries, delivering education, healthcare, crisis relief, and environmental projects.
The closure comes just five months after Ferguson was removed as a patron of Julia's House Children's Hospice.
At the time, leaked emails between Ferguson and Epstein surfaced, including one in which she allegedly apologized to him for publicly denouncing him and insisted she had never called him a pedophile.
She reportedly went on to describe Epstein as a "steadfast, generous, and supreme friend."
Shortly after the message came to light, Julia's House announced that it would be "inappropriate for her to continue as a patron," according to The Blast.
Sarah Ferguson’s Children’s Book Pulled Before Its Release

Another blow followed with reports that Ferguson's children's book, “Flora and Fern: Kindness Along the Way,” was pulled before reaching bookstores.
The book was originally scheduled for release on October 9 last year, before being postponed to November 20. Sources later claimed the delay was intended to quietly remove the title altogether.
As The Blast reported at the time, insiders suggested the decision was directly linked to the controversy surrounding Ferguson. One source bluntly said, "It's not been delayed, it's being pulped," adding that no one would want to purchase it.
Actress Natalie Dormer Quits From Publicity On Movie Adaptation Of Sarah Ferguson

Ferguson’s fallout even had actress Natalie Dormer, who starred in “The Lady,” a film centered on Ferguson's life, refusing to promote the project.
According to The Blast, the “Game of Thrones” star disclosed that the information about Ferguson’s relationship with the sex offender came to light after the shooting of the project ended.
However, she was not going to partake in publicity as she could not “reconcile her values” with Ferguson's behavior, which to her was “inexcusable.”
Dormer further donated all her proceeds from the film to an organization for abused children.
What The Latest Epstein Files Reveal About Sarah Ferguson

Although much of the backlash on Ferguson unfolded last year, the DOJ's most recent release on January 30 reignited the controversy.
Among more than three million newly released documents were exchanges reportedly showing Ferguson's close personal relationship with Epstein.
The Blast reported that one message from August 3, 2009, showed Ferguson heaping praises on him while likening him to her sibling.
"I have never been more touched by a friend's kindness than your compliment to me in front of my girls,” Ferguson wrote in the text. “Thank you, Jeffrey, for being the brother I have always wished for.”
More texts reportedly show Ferguson inviting Epstein to Prince Andrew's 50th birthday celebration and referring to him as a "legend" she was proud of.
Sarah Ferguson’s Daughters React To The Surfaced Information

In other messages, Ferguson mentioned her daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice. In one particular exchange from March 2010, Epstein suggested a New York trip to Ferguson.
However, the mom of two replied, "Not sure yet. Just waiting for Eugenie to come back from a sh*****g weekend."
In the wake of the revelations, The Blast reported that Ferguson's daughters are said to be deeply unsettled by the emails.
"They are aghast at what they have read," an insider shared. "They are mortified by the emails their mother has sent to Epstein. It is so embarrassing for them."
